Back to my #perù 🌈

When visiting Peru’s Sacred Valley, you have the opportunity to go beyond the usual tourist routes and experience the vibrant living culture of the Andean highlands ⛰️
One remarkable way to do so is by visiting the Ccaccaccollo Women’s Weaving Cooperative, where tourism is seamlessly integrated into the everyday life of the community, helping not only to preserve but also to enrich its cultural heritage.
Immerse yourself in the rich weaving traditions of Chinchero and discover the craftsmanship and history behind this remarkable community. The women of the cooperative demonstrate the traditional techniques they use to create, dye and weave the intricate textiles for which Peru is renowned.
The Ccaccaccollo Women’s Weaving Cooperative was established in response to the negative effects of the tourism boom, which had contributed to cultural erosion and economic imbalance within the community.
In the past, many women had to leave their village to take up low-paid jobs in tourist areas. The cooperative provides them with training in traditional weaving techniques, enabling them to create and sell alpaca textiles. In this way, it offers economic stability while preserving the cultural traditions of the Inca and Quechua peoples.
With more than 60 women weavers, the cooperative offers a fascinating insight into the entire traditional weaving process, an art passed down through generations since Inca times. From spinning wool and dyeing it with natural colours to the intricate art of weaving itself, every stage reflects a rich tapestry of history, skill and cultural heritage❤️✨️ by @vickybletsa

📌🥾❄️Rainbow Mountain
Vinicunca 🌈🌎🇵🇪🔝🚩

In the heart of the Peruvian Andes, at an altitude of nearly 5,000m, lies one of the strangest and most breathtaking landscapes on Earth.
Vinicunca looks as if someone painted the mountain with every shade on the palette. Red, pink, green, yellow, white, and purple form natural stripes across its surface, a unique result of the different compositions of the rocks and minerals hidden beneath the ground.
The red is mainly caused by iron oxides, while other minerals create the green, yellow, and pale shades. These layers formed millions of years ago and were gradually revealed by erosion.
And yet, this spectacular mountain remained hidden beneath the ice for centuries. Only in recent years, as the glaciers retreated, did its colors begin to emerge, bringing Vinicunca international fame.
Perhaps that is why its image seems so unbelievable: it is not simply a colorful mountain. It is a piece of Earth that waited millions of years to reveal itself !
