Something I feel VERY passionate about!! You can sing the same song, with COMPLETELY different approaches 🎶 It’s one of my favourite things about vocal coaching 🤓 it really isn’t a one size fits all approach! We all have different voices, different habits and different things that come naturally to us. What works for one singer might be COMPLETELY different for someone else. It’s all about finding what works for YOU. So find that vocal coach who takes the time to learn what you need, your habits, your style, your choices and what works best for your voice! 🫶🎶 #VocalCoach #SingingLessons #VocalTechnique #VikkiBVocalCoach by @vikkibvocalcoach
Tiny change… BIG difference 🎤✨ Try this next time you sing! Relax those knees, let yourself feel grounded and see what happens to your breath and your voice 👀 It’s such a simple little thing, but you might be surprised how quickly you notice a difference 💫 Of course like everything singing…it takes time, repetition and practice to build these good habits. But, it’s one you can do straight away! Try it! Let me know how you get on 🫶🎶 #vocalcoach #singingtips #singinglessons #singinglessonslondon #musicaltheatre by @vikkibvocalcoach
🎭 Audition story time! I posted this a year ago and it’s still one of my favourite audition stories to share…and with lots of lovely new faces here, I thought it was worth bringing back! Auditions are SUCH a funny old thing. There are SO many factors at play that have absolutely nothing to do with how talented you are or how hard you’ve worked. So, whether you’re fresh out of drama school, auditioning for your next job or somewhere in between, here’s your little reminder that an audition result does NOT define your talent. 🫶 Focus on what you can control:
🎭 Keep training
✨ Keep exploring
🎶 Keep creating
💗 Keep trusting in your talent You won’t be right for every job and not every room will be the right fit for you. That’s just part of it! Keep going, keep growing and don’t let one “no” write the story for you. Your journey is still unfolding 💫 And if you’re navigating the audition world right now…I’m right behind you! 👏🎶 #VocalCoach #MusicalTheatre #auditions #SingingLessons #AuditionTips by @vikkibvocalcoach
Mix feeling a little… 🤨 what are we doing today then?! 😅 If your mix feels inconsistent, there are a few things I’d look at with you before assuming you just need to “try harder”! The thing with mix is that every voice needs a slightly different combination of airflow, vocal fold closure, vowels, resonance and movement. There isn’t one magic mix formula that works for everyone. Sometimes the smallest adjustment can be the thing that suddenly makes a note feel SO much easier. And yep… it’s a coordination you have to train. The more you work on it, the more reliable it becomes! Save this for your next practice 🫶🎶 #vocalcoach #vocalcoachlondon #singinglessons #musicaltheatre by @vikkibvocalcoach
😅 Don’t get me wrong - one lesson before an audition can absolutely help…last minute tweaks, adjustments, solidifying choices BUT your voice needs more than a last-minute panic session! My Audition Tune-Ups are perfect for those little tweaks and adjustments just before you walk into the room 🎤✨ BUT if you really want to build your voice, confidence and consistency, that happens over time. A little regular practice + the right support = SO much more confidence when audition time comes around! And yes, you absolutely can work on your voice even when you don’t have an audition coming up. In fact… that’s kind of the point! Your future audition self will thank you 🫶🎶. #vocalcoach #singingtips #musicaltheatre by @vikkibvocalcoach
✨ Back to teaching! ✨ Another year of getting to do one of my favourite things, working with the next generation of performers 🎭🎶 Heading back this week to Bird College for 1:1 Singing & Acting Through Song and Mountview for Acting Through Song (as well as my regular Vocal Coaching!). Excited to meet the new first years, see some fabulous returning students and get stuck back in! 🫶 Feeling very grateful to be part of these brilliant training grounds and to help performers find and train their voice, tell their stories and build confidence along the journey! Let’s gooo! 🔥 And my private coaching continues alongside all of this. Singing, Audition Prep, Self-Tapes & Acting Through Song. 🎶 Private coaching availability💫 link in bio or drop me a message. #musicaltheatretraining #singing #actingthroughsong #birdcollege #mountview by @vikkibvocalcoach
Name and shame: Eleanor Fox 😂👏 She only went and graduated with 10+ agent offers. All that hard work, risk-taking and turning up to lessons finally paid off. 🥹❤️ Couldn’t be prouder of you🫶🎶 #vocalcoach #westend #singinglessons @eleanorjfox by @vikkibvocalcoach
You don’t have to sound perfect in your singing lesson! Wobble. Crack. Experiment. Make a weird noise!! Give yourself permission to play and explore…that’s where the real discoveries are 💫 Your vocal coach has got you! 🫶🎶 #vocalcoach #singinglessons #singingtips #singers #vocaltechnique by @vikkibvocalcoach
MORE tips for surviving drama school 🎭✨ Because surviving drama school isn’t ALWAYS about working harder, doing more and pushing yourself further… Sometimes it’s about knowing when to stop, look after yourself and remember that YOU the instrument ❤️ And you’re going to make mistakes. You’re going to have rubbish days. You’ll miss notes, forget lines, mess up choreography and have moments where you wonder if you’re actually any good at this 😂 BUT that’s where so much of the learning happens! Some of the best discoveries can come from getting it wrong, trying again, taking a risk and realising that failure isn’t the opposite of progress…it’s part of it. So work hard. Be curious. Make mistakes. Get things wrong. Try again. REST. Look after yourself. And remember why you love this in the first place. ✨ Because amongst all the hard work, there are those moments where everything clicks and you think… “THIS is why I’m here.” ❤️ You’ve got this! Save this for when you need the reminder 🫶 & send it to a drama school pal who might need it too! 🎭 🫶🎶 #dramaschooltips #birdcollege #mountview #vocalcoach by @vikkibvocalcoach
Starting drama school in September?! 🎭 ✨ First of all… CONGRATULATIONS! 🥳 Secondly… buckle up 😉 You’re about to learn an absolutely ridiculous amount in a very short space of time. You’ll have days where you feel like you’re absolutely smashing it and other days where you’ll wonder if you accidentally got into the wrong building…. Both are completely normal. SO, here are 4 little things I wish every drama school student would remember during their training: 📝 TAKE THE NOTES 🎶 DO THE PRACTICE 🤸‍♀️ EMBRACE THE MISTAKES ❤️ BE KIND TO YOURSELF Honestly? The students who grow the most aren’t usually the ones who arrive knowing everything… They’re the ones who stay curious, keep showing up, ask questions, have a go, get things wrong, laugh about it and try again! Save this for September and send it to a drama school friend who might need it! 🫶🎶 #DramaSchool #DramaSchoolTips #MusicalTheatre #MusicalTheatreStudent #VocalCoach by @vikkibvocalcoach
