POSTS STORIES REELS

6 years since you left us 💔🕊️

No more seeing your smile despite good or bad news through life and cancer, no more waking up to watch cricket together at crazy hours and saying was there a need to hit that ball 😞, no more laughing at my ‘jokes’, & no more love and support.

Like many others, life did cheat us, there was meant to be more decades together for all the above and more. Although I knew I had to be prepared for your death, I guess the delusion of reality took over, as our relationship & love was so strong, how is one meant to just simply live without the other? The whole experience changed and in some ways broke me at 4am 6 years ago, when you slipped away from our arms. Is thinking about you at least 100 times healthy or unhealthy? Is there any point in contenting achieve things, creating memories if the one person who you want to share it with is not around? How would it be if you were still here? The dreams you pop into is because God gave you a day pass to spend time with your family in a different reality, surely? Different questions disappear and others appear as the years go by.

You made us promise to stick together as a family & stay happy in your final days and we are trying but there never be a happy time without you. We will try to live, as there are no as per your wishes & there are no other good alternatives. You showed us there is no fear in death & the day you went was the day I was not fearful and was ready to join you wether that was there or then or many years down the time, once that day arrives, I can’t want to see you somewhere in heaven 🙏🏾. Love and miss you always ❤️

With all the fame & fortune that you can imagine - known by more than a billion people in the world & one of the top paid athletes in the world, you would think that the chances of getting to meet one of your hero’s, who has such a stature would only be in your dreams!
.

Well it happened 😱! What was truly heart filling was how humble & a complete gentlemen he was! Even chatted for a few mins (Laughing thinking about this). Pure class & an unbelievable guy! A moment which I will never forget & always treasure! Thank you skipper @virat.kohli 💙

Tokyo marathon - loved it 🇯🇵✅🏅⁣
⁣
The journey started when sadly, the bone injury I had in August reoccured in November after NYC marathon, so although thankful I had a ballot entry into for @tokyomarathonfoundation it meant training had to start immediately with no rest between training cycle for the marathons.⁣
⁣
Working with my physio team @r.d.physio @devs_r @itsmyphysioadrian we formulated a plan to get there. I was taking 2-3 days to recover from short runs & other factors meant we went with 3 runs easy runs & 2 S&C sessions & eating well for this 12 week block.⁣ I gained 4-5kg throughout this block & stronger overall.
⁣
The night before the race, I only had 2 hours sleep, I was a bit phased out of time & space the morning of the race & having fainted post NYC marathon the fear of that happening during this race was real.⁣
⁣
All of this meant the plan was always run smart 👉🏾🧠👦🏾& to go at a comfortable pace, did I struggle in parts? Of course, although not as much as I thought. I had not trained with any intensity, & was sleep deprived, so overall sacrifices in speed had to be made to read the situation.⁣
⁣
Thankful that no stress reaction on the bone occurred during this training cycle & post marathon. Pleased to have cut off 45 mins from the NYC marathon (walk/run 🤦🏽‍♂️). So I believe we are ready to introduce speed work 👌🏽.⁣
⁣
I am still a novice at this distance but learning fast, for now, I can finally have couple months ‘off’.⁣
⁣
Thank you all for the support & good luck messages, each one spurred me on when the body was not having it ❤️. This was very much a team effort 🏅😁⁣

A wedding celebration in Mallorca ⛰️🌴🌅💍🇪🇸

A big congrats to @sam_mahmoudi & @isobel_darcy for bringing friends & family together for an amazing wedding set in beautiful Mallorca.

A message by Sam on the wedding day (slide 16) hit hard emotionally, it was something us two would understand on a deeper level. It meant a lot to be there, I’m really grateful for the value of our friendship ❤️ & could not be happier for you both 💍🙏🏽

24 hours after that 1 mile WR @joshhkerr 🤯

Thank you Josh for sharing your insights, journey to that world record, those key sessions, how data metrics can be impactful or just numbers and a special interest of mine recovery.

We can’t claim to have the resources or ability to train like a pro athletes, but there were some great take aways regardless that can be translated to amateur running (yes, even at this age 👨🏼‍🦳) & the knowledge can be passed on to the new generation of runners so they can unlock their full potential.

Thank you @runlimited.ldn the invite to sit down, meet, listen & talk to the new 1 mile record holder @amazfit.global @amazfituk @trackstaa 🙏🏽

Madrid to surprise the amigos🤐🇪🇸👶🏽🏃🏽‍♂️🥭📺🏡🍽️

We spent so much time apart physically, that even @bimbamina did recognise me while walking beside on the streets of Madrid her for 5 mins 👻🤯, until the secret swap with Moi to hold 👶🏼 Naia.

Being integrated into your family life for the trip meant a lot. The breakfasts, lunches, dinners, completing a whole Netflix series together (finally), the daily walks with Naia, running with Moi 🥵, watching / explaining cricket 😵‍💫 & having the conversations which are difficult together with everything in between.

Last but least, meeting baby Naia & delivering her 🥭. I believe we are besties now, she knew how to best make use of my time there & I was more than happy to oblige🥲😴🤍, clever girl. May she always be cheeky, strong, energetic & adorable.

So much has changed since we last met, yet the things that matter in the heart remain the same. I am already looking forward to our future trips together 🙏🏽.

Track Tuesday sharing 🥭 & a slice or two 🍰🙏🏽

Thank you to everyone who could make it to track on Tuesday to celebrate another year closer to the end of time week (some call in birthday week 🤷🏽‍♂️). I appreciated the time, energy and presence which is always challenging in our busy diaries, and don’t take it for granted 🙏🏽.

Always thinking one the one person who would make the biggest fuss (mum) today & the only person who I would allow to make a fuss. Any celebrations are bittersweet without her, but a reminder that you never know which people in your life will leave you, creating an unfillable void for the rest of your life. Who would you turn to for help & who would embrace those difficult roles without a second thought about to how complex that type of support would look like.

Always glad I have my family and friends who support, uplift, critique & challenge me everyday in addition to embracing the role above unconditionally. Your presence means everything, allows me to navigate and manage the crushing losses as well as the challenges of the future, and smile / laugh when there is little to be joyful about. God bless, I hope we strengthen our ties in the years to come & continue in this vein until the end of time.

Kutch & Ahmedabad, Gujarat 🇮🇳

Always good to be back home ground (at least I can speak the language 😏). In a developing country I always love to see the improvements every-time I go back, some things we wish can immediately, others which we think should never change & will jot change, this is India.

Looking forward to being back in Ahmedabad for the @commonwealthsport games in 2030.

History made, back to back T20 world champions 🇮🇳🏏🏆⭐️⭐️⭐️

The curse of the Narendra Modi Stadium has been broken (what an arena by the way), on a special night, @indiancricketteam blew away a great @nzcricketofficial side to be the 1st side to retain a title & win it at home.

So much to unpack from the tournament & the final, but a great time with the family, first in Barbados now on our home state of Gujarat, very lucky to see us lift 2 world titles back to back, this is now a cricket dynasty 😌
