4 November 1972. “I Can See Clearly Now” hit #1 in America, the first reggae song to ever top the chart. 🌿

Johnny Nash was American. But he’d been to Jamaica, caught the rhythm, and brought it home.

Four months later, Bob Marley released Catch a Fire. Reggae had found the world.

Bob Marley. Peter Tosh. Burning Spear. The Wailers. Jimmy Cliff.

Which reggae record never leaves your turntable? 🎶

Tom Petty was born on 20 October 1950 - and he spent a lifetime mapping a very specific America. Highways and small towns. Sunsets and dreamers who refused to quit. His sound doesn't exist in isolation either. It lives right beside Hotel California, Born to Run, Rumours, Tres Hombres, and Live at the Fillmore East.

Which one lives on your turntable? 🇺🇸

Half a century on, the dark side still pulls you all the way in. This anniversary edition, remastered by James Guthrie, lands in a gatefold jacket with collectible posters and stickers. "Money." "Time." "Us and Them."

10 years ago today, Bob Dylan won the Nobel Prize in Literature. 🎸

The committee said he created “new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.” Anyone who’s listened to Blonde on Blonde, Blood on the Tracks or Desire already knew that.

This week’s drop is for the songwriters who made music literary - Dylan, Joni, Cohen, King, Simon, Young.

Which one would you put in a time capsule?
