Parisssssss!!!
Despite the riots and a weird dystopian atmosphere in the streets, what a blast, what a week!

It started with the viewing at Sotheby's of Monet's masterpiece Iris, which went on to fetch a record price. You can already sense the seeds of Abstract Expressionism in it: the freedom of the strokes, the movement. I feel so grateful to have seen it before it disappears into a private collection.

A stunning evening at the Design Miami preview with dear art friends

@asianow opening :

Huge thanks to @bao.contemporary for a lovely evening reconnecting with @tieen.ngx and discovering her solo show not to be missed if you are in Paris.

📺 @offscreen_paris was my favourite fair experience: a curated fair without any compromise. @giovanniozzola presented a mesmerising piece with @galleriacontinua and @dialogue.gallery

Last but not least, works by @beatriz__morales, presented during @pugliaartproject, now in the collection of patron Beatriz Yunes Guarita, with @humberto_campana

This year I truly loved Frieze week. Maybe it was my mood, open to new discoveries, conversations, reconnecting and making new connections, and simply enjoying the art. So grateful to live in a city like London, which has so much to offer.

It began with the Frieze East End tour, then the opening of PAD, Delfina Foundation, the Serpentine, and Frieze's opening day, where I spent a full day without noticing the time fly. The quality of the work and the presentations this year was outstanding.

Some of my highlights:
🔹 The Turbine Hall opening with @tarekatoui
🔹 A private visit of "Light & Magic: The Birth of Art Photography" with curator Charmaine Toh @tate @charmaine.toh
🔹 Matti Braun at OMR @matti.braun @galeriaomr
🔹 Mohammad Alfaraj @mohammadalfaraj at Delfina Foundation @delfinafdn
🔹 Esteban Jefferson @estebanjefferson @herald_st with Herald St at Frieze
🔹 @oliviacjia @approachgallery
🔹 A day in Margate with the Fluxus Patrons at @turnercontemporary to see Sophie Calle @adansophiecalle's exhibition and visit @sophievonhellerman @traceyeminstudio project

Thank you to everyone who made this week so special. 🙏 by @virginie_puertolas_syn

Bangkok Rocks!!

I really enjoyed my few days in Bangkok visiting Dib and attending the museum's 2nd exhibition.

Something is definitely happening in Bangkok's art scene: the Dib museum, the Kunsthalle, the Jim Thompson Art Center… and now French gallerist Christophe Gaillard is opening his Asian outpost in the city.

A city to watch, and I'll be back very soon!

Puglia Art Project is a curatorial platform created to bring International Contemporary artists in dialogue with Puglia : the landscape, the history and the communities.
Puglia has an incredible layered history with the Messapians, the Greeks, the Normans, the Spanish. Puglia is undergoing a full transformation.

Puglia Art Project has 3 objectives:

To bring contemporary artists in Puglia to develop site specific installations.

To give international art patrons, who support the project, a unique experience to discover Puglia through the lens of Contemporary Art.

To offer to the public in Puglia the chance to see world class contemporary art in their own land.

Carte Blanche is the 3rd edition of Puglia Art Project:
@giovanniozzola (Italian) responded to the sea with a performance at sunset "The Lake of the Unknown"

@beatriz__morales (Mexican with Lebanese origins) responded to the architecture of the Trullo using agave fiber in Ceglie Messapica.
The exhibition is called "Cosmology of Care"

@david_rickard_ (New Zelande) with his installation "Under a Heavy Sky" in Carovigno engaged with the xyllela.

Collaboration is key to Puglia Art Project:
5 galleries are collaborating to the project
3 Italian galleries
@depart_out_cegliemessapica
@galleriamichelarizzo
@galleria.32
2 International galleries
@copperfield_london
@suburbiacontemporary_bcn
And an independent curator @giuliana_schiavone

Puglia Art Project 4th edition is already on the way.
Artists are coming to visit and research Puglia.
Art Patrons are booking their trip to come the 3rd weekend of July 2027.
There are conversation to collaborate with local institutions.

Stay tuned for Puglia Art Project 2027!

O Napoli ti amo!

The excruciating beauty of this bay — rivaling Sydney, Hong Kong, Rio — framed by Vesuvio, Capri and Sorrento. A landscape unlike any other.

But it's the city's art scene that truly captivated me, the conversations, the warmth and the hospitality of the Napoletani . At @museomadre, a comprehensive survey of Maria Lai, and the opening of @thomashirschhorn_official at @alfonsoartiacogallery . A visit to Fondazione Morra Greco @fondazionemorragreco and @galleriafonti , and a performance by @madame.de.sainte.orlan at Castel Nuovo — where I found myself playing a part.

The true highlight: @antoniomartiniello_ @kellerarchitettura extraordinary project of urban and social rejuvenation — a former Bourbon-era wool factory reborn, where Jimmie Durham established his Naples based and where his partner, the Brazilian artist Maria Thereza Alves has a studio. @galleriasolito Galleria has its space there too, presenting an excellent exhibition by Claire Fontaine @foreignerseverywhere .

Thank you to my Napolitanean friends for your warm welcome 🙏 by @virginie_puertolas_syn

Greek reset by @virginie_puertolas_syn

It's the end of summer and I've been sitting with this feeling — reflecting on what an incredible human and artistic experience @pugliaartproject (season 3) has been.

We are celebrating @beatriz__morales's birthday, and it feels like the right moment to say thank you.

Thank you to each of the artists who trusted me and jumped into this journey with me.

Each one came up with such a unique, in-situ project, each responding to Puglia in their own way

the architecture for @beatriz__morales
the sea for @giovanniozzola,
the environment for @david_rickard_.

And as summer turns to autumn, it's not over — it's just continuing.

Giovanni's beautiful installation, ALBEDO
"You see me in the twilight" curated by Giorgio Galotti and Shen Qilan, is still up in Venice until the end of November, and he'll be presented by @dialogue.gallery & @galleriacontinua at @offscreen_paris Paris.

David is part of two museum shows in Italy right now, @museomuse & MART and his piece "Under a Heavy Sky" has found a new home here in Puglia.

Beatriz is off lecturing at Bard College Berlin, already dreaming up two exhibitions for next year — one in Mexico, one in Brazil — but before that, you can catch her work at @artissimafair with @depart_gallery in Turin. I really hope to see you there.

So grateful.
To the artists, the territory, the whole journey. by @virginie_puertolas_syn

Beatriz MORALES. COSMOLOGIES OF CARE

Un dialogo tra memoria materiale, paesaggio e trasformazione, in cui il trullo diventa corpo, soglia e centro di orientamento dove colore, tessile e simbolo si intrecciano come forze interdipendenti.
