🎓 For our latest blog post, we asked one of our piano instructors, Michael Kaykov, for advice on auditioning for colleges such as Juilliard. Here's a snippet of what he had to say: "The main challenge is finding enough time to prepare fully. I narrowed down my repertoire only to the pieces I would present in the auditions and spent more than a year preparing for that. With many of my students, I suggest new repertoire regularly but we also go back and polish longer term projects which have been in progress for several months or even years." 🪈 Check out this snippet from our latest blog post about the difference between flutist and flautist: "In the grand orchestra of musical terminology, where every note and nuance plays its part, there lies a subtle yet intriguing debate: should one who plays the flute be called a flutist or a flautist? It's a question that, while seemingly simple, resonates deeply within the chambers of music halls and academic corridors alike. As Virtu.Academy prides itself on not just teaching music but also immersing its students in the culture and history surrounding it, let's embark on an explorative journey to uncover the layers behind these terms."
