No tricks here—just some of our favorite characters around town. 🎃🍂

Cambria’s scarecrows have kept us smiling all month long, so we couldn’t let Halloween pass without giving them one more moment in the spotlight.

It might sound like the setting of your favorite feel-good movie, but it’s just fall in Cambria.

Some places just feel made for “I do.”

Tucked among the gardens in Harmony, this sets the scene for an intimate Central Coast celebration with plenty of character.

Just add your favorite people, a few happy tears, and the beginning of forever. 🤍 by @visitcambria

We’re not ready to say goodbye to Cambria’s scarecrows just yet. 🥹

Scarecrow season has filled Cambria with plenty of unexpected characters, creative details, and reasons to look twice as you wander around town. It’s all thanks to the hard work and creativity of the Scarecrow Festival volunteers.

If you’ve been meaning to see them for yourself, consider this your sign.

Monarch season on Highway 1 🦋

Each fall and winter, Western Monarchs return to the groves along our coast. Their numbers change from year to year, so every sighting is a special one. Here’s what to know before you go:

🗓️ When: Groves are worth a visit October through February

☀️ Best time: Sunny mornings. Monarchs become active once the sun warms their wings.

👀 Look up: They often rest high in eucalyptus and cypress branches, so binoculars help.

🤫 Be a good guest: Keep voices low, stay on the trails, and never touch the butterflies.

📍 Where to look:
• Oceano: Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove (docent talks in season)
• Nipomo: Monarch Dunes Butterfly Habitat
• Los Osos: Monarch Grove Natural Area and Sweet Springs Nature Preserve
• Cambria: Fiscalini Ranch Preserve
• San Simeon: San Simeon Natural Preserve

Western Monarchs need all the help they can get. Visiting gently and supporting the Western Monarch Trail helps protect these groves for seasons to come. Save this for your fall road trip 🧡

📍Cambria, California—if you’re looking for a quick coastal escape in California, put this charming little Central Coast town on your list 🌊🌲

We spent our time exploring the coast, wandering through town, enjoying a sunset picnic on the beach, and taking in some of the prettiest ocean views in California. It’s one of those places we keep coming back to, and for good reason 🥹

A few details to help plan your own getaway ⬇️

🏡 STAY: We stayed at @cambriapineslodge, which is surrounded by 25 acres of gardens and towering pines. The grounds are beautiful, there’s plenty of space for kids to explore, and breakfast is included when you book directly through the hotel!

🛍️ EXPLORE: Spend some time wandering through downtown Cambria’s independent shops, boutiques, and galleries. There are so many unique little places to browse, and I never leave empty-handed. Don’t miss @spellboundherbs, a charming gift shop tucked inside a historic cottage with beautiful gardens to explore.

🌅 SUNSET: Grab a pizza to go and head to Moonstone Beach for a sunset picnic! You can also walk along the mile-long boardwalk overlooking the ocean. This spot has a special place in our hearts because it’s where we got engaged!

🌲 GET OUTSIDE: Don’t miss Fiscalini Ranch Preserve (@ffrpcambria)! It’s free to visit, with miles of beautiful trails and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife. The Bluff Trail is a great option for incredible coastal views without a tough hike.

🌸 WITH KIDS: Stop by @cambrianurseryflorist to wander through the gardens, check out the gift shop, and admire all the flowers and fish. They even have a year-round Christmas store!

Twinkling lights, cozy nights, festive treats, and plenty of holiday cheer—the Cambria Christmas Market will be here before we know it.
