It’s VI History Month!

Much of history is overlooked because it was passed down through oral traditions rather than written records.

Colonization decimated Indigenous populations in the USVI, but their influence is found in Caribbean language, food, agriculture, traditions and direct descendants living on today.

Legacy is not what remains untouched; legacy is what survives by becoming what follows. If you look around, it’s deeply rooted in the island’s identity, and its influence continues today.

Save these recommendations for St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands!

🌅 See the sunrise from Point Udall, the easternmost point of the United States. Glorious!
🧘 @island.movement has so many offerings for fitness and wellness, it's hard to choose between them. We love the yoga classes!
👟 Explore the historic streets of Christiansted and its charming covered sidewalks.
🏝️ Visit Protestant Cay and enjoy the beautiful sandy beach.
🤿 While you're there... snorkeling around the cay is a lot of fun! We especially enjoyed the less-visited "back side" of the cay.
🩵 Admire the stunning turquoise waters... again and again!
🥾 Hike to Isaacs Bay Beach. This is a great excursion paired with a sunrise trip to Point Udall, as the trailhead is nearby and you will likely be hiking during golden hour. Be mindful of sea turtle nests on the beach (depending on the season) and hermit crabs along the trail. Consider bringing snorkeling gear too!
🥾 Hike to Hams Bluff Lighthouse. This is another beautiful hike during golden hour, and the sunset is stunning from up on the bluff. Be mindful of hermit crabs and wild goats!
🧜‍♀️ Dive Fredriksted Pier and join an underwater world filled with fish of all colors, sea turtles, rays, seahorses, octopus, and more... it's magical! We rented gear from @crucianadventuredivers and appreciated their convenient location, lockers, courtyard to set up gear and shower off afterwards, and friendly service!
🩴 Stroll along the Christiansted boardwalk morning, noon, and night!
😌 Relax, Rest, Recharge, Repeat!

🇻🇮Built in 1760, during Danish rule, the oceanfront Estate Butler Bay was once one of the largest sugar plantations on St. Croix.

🌪️After Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017, the neglected estate needed a lot of care.

🍃Over the course of six years, Corina & Ryan, with lots and lots of help, restored and opened the Feather Leaf Inn.
