3 of 3 Artist Feature - Exhibition now on by artist Tim Carroll at The Hop Inn, 8 Devizes Rd, Swindon, SN14BH until 27th Dec. "Tim Carroll’s figurative paintings are full of vibrancy, mystery and imagination. From ceramic trees to paintings of dancing figures, all his pieces are at once exciting and harmonious, fun and sophisticated. The balanced colours and compositions are pleasing to the eye, whilst the active group of figures and exotic settings create a strong narrative quality and sense of mystery. Tim gained a BA in Fine Art at Leeds University in 1982. Since then his work has become enriched by the places and cultures he has encountered during his travels to India and Italy. He is also inspired by Celtic knotwork, English literature and early Italian Renaissance art to create his multi-layered images of the human figure. Despite varied cultural influences, Tim has maintained a strong connection to his home town, Swindon, where he has lived since the age of ten. Tim has completed several local projects, which have involved the documentation and renovation of public art for Swindon Borough Council, and an extremely well received series of paintings, ‘100 Views of Swindon’.” Katie Ackrill, Curator, Art & Museums, Collections and Exhibitions Officer, Swindon Museums – Museum & Art Swindon. A work by the artist Tim Carroll has been held in the permanent collection of Museum & Art Swindon since August 2026. #visualartswindon #thehopinn #artintheheart #swindon by @visualartswindon

Row of three pics on our VAS online gallery dedicated to @charlottesnipeart today… ‘That’s Family’ (Blue and orange, holding hands), ‘That’s Kindness’ (Green and red, high five), ‘That’s Love’ (Green and purple, love heart) “This collection grew from work that the Swindon Borough Council Fostering Team did with children they care for. Children were invited to creatively respond to the question ‘what does fostering mean to you’. From poetry to glitter, a tree of hands to a tree of quotes. The children came back in full force to showcase, in their own words and colours, what this Council team and supporting systems have done for them.” “The three artworks that I created responded to the works of the children that I saw in Swindon Central Library. Seeing the mass of colour that they chose and the happiness of what the system in Swindon has done for them, I wanted to create something that surrounds that positivity. The three paintings; ‘That’s Family’, ‘That’s Love’, and ‘That’s Kindness’, showcases all different elements that fostering has bought to these children’s, and adults, lives. Bringing together an adult hand and a child hand allows the viewer to understand some of the context from the children, bringing the worlds of their experiences and the artists of Swindon together. All of my work can be viewed at www charlottesnipe art “ (Add dots! Active link in Charlotte’s Instagram profile. Pictured is 'Two Trees, Liddington Castle (Autumn)'. Two Trees, Liddington Castle (Autumn) is an open edition fine art giclée print (available to purchase on Sean's website), of an original oil painting by Sean Monaghan, an outdoor painter based in North Wiltshire. Painted on location in autumn, the study focuses on two trees in the middle distance set against the open Ridgeway landscape - the hill of Liddington Castle rising faintly in the distance. The work is part of a series returning to this same pair of trees and view of Liddington across different seasons and light conditions. Painted quickly on site, the brushwork is direct and expressive. #SNartist #visualartswindon #swindon #liddington by @visualartswindon
Gideon Liddiard Photography, 'Rose'. "I am a Wiltshire-based event and documentary photographer, I also work on promotional and product photography. In addition to working for commercial clients, I am the lead photographer for the Swindon-based magazine 'Pig Hill', and regularly exhibit my work. I also regularly collaborate with artists in other media in joint exhibitions and MA projects. My style focuses on clean, bold images, using contrast and tone to bring life and clarity to the work, while remaining grounded in an honest representation of the subject. Every image should tell its own story, engaging the viewer to want to know more about the subject and the story behind it." Exhibition - Silentium is a new exhibition by Gideon Liddiard Photography. Opening Sunday the 11th of October at The Hop Inn, 8 Devizes Rd, Swindon SN1 4BH at 6.30pm, R.S.V.P for Opening Ticket link via Linktree in @gideon.liddiard.photography bio. ‘Silentium’. Latin, silence, quiet, quietness, stillness, repose. A series of mainly still life images created over the last three years, curated around the more contemplative moments in life. Images that pull you in for a second, more considered look, take your time, breath slowly, and let each piece draw you in. @gideon.liddiard.photography gideonliddiardphotography. com by @visualartswindon
