🏃‍♀️ Athletes often assume their pelvic floor symptoms are caused by issues with the bladder, bowel, vagina, or rectum. But did you know that pelvic floor muscle dysfunction could be the missing piece? 🤔 💡 Symptoms aren’t always caused by the organs themselves. Sometimes, the pelvic floor muscles may be contributing to the problem. 🙌 A pelvic floor physical therapist can help identify the root cause of your symptoms and determine whether physical therapy is the right fit for you. 🎯 Stop guessing. Start understanding your body. Find the root cause and get back to doing what you love! 💪🔥 Vital Force Physio: RUN. LIFT. MOVE. It’s so fun getting all the data from a VO2 Max test, and I love seeing that I have improved! I’ve only been a triathlete for 3 years now, and I never thought my body would be capable of this. My only regret is not starting earlier. Believe in yourself, show up for yourself, and I promise you’ll accomplish more than you ever thought possible! 💚 Thank you @vitalforce_physio and @drracheltauber ! #vo2max #triathlete #triathlonlife #triathletelife #triathlontraining by @vitalforce_physio
Creating new life is powerful work. 💛 As pregnancy shifts your center of mass, changes how you load your hips and spine, and increases ligament laxity, strength training becomes more than exercise — it becomes support. 🏋️‍♀️ Controlled movement patterns help your pelvis, core, and lower back stay stable as your body adapts. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s stability, comfort, and confidence in a body doing something remarkable. 🌿 And the science backs it up. 📚 Resistance training is linked to: ⭐️Improved fetal development, ⭐️Better delivery outcomes, ⭐️Reduced risk of gestational diabetes ⭐️Reduced risk of gestational hypertension ⭐️Decreased preeclampsia risk, ⭐️Fewer C‑section deliveries. ✨ So I stay consistent. Not because I “have to,” but because I get 9 months to build the strongest, healthiest home I can. 🏡💪 Strong mama. Strong baby. 🤍 #strongmom #strongbaby #physio #20weekspregnant #medballworkout by @vitalforce_physio
Happy National Physical Therapy Month Let me tell you why I almost left the physical therapy profession… At 18, I was told my football career was over after a herniated disc led to back surgery. Two years later, I re-herniated the same disc... while tying my shoes. I was told: Don’t lift heavy. Don’t squat. Running is too much compression. Consider steroid injections. You may need another surgery. So I did what I was supposed to do… I went to physical therapy. I spent sessions laying on a table tightening my abdominal muscles and making little to no progress. Then I became a physical therapist because I wanted answers and wanted to help people like me. Yet despite years of education, I was still living in pain. I couldn’t sleep comfortably. Car rides were miserable. I felt weak and frustrated helping others while struggling myself. Everything changed when I stopped treating my body like it was broken. I started lifting. My first deadlift? A 25-pound kettlebell. One month later: 95 pounds. One year later: 225 pounds and my sciatic pain was nearly gone. I learned something that changed my life: pain doesn’t always mean damage, and strength can be one of the most powerful forms of medicine. Fast forward to today: 🏅Multiple marathon finisher 💪Top 10% worldwide in the CrossFit Open 😎400+ pound deadlift ✅Stronger and healthier than I’ve ever been The movements I was told to avoid became the very things that gave me my life back. I didn’t start Vital Force Physio because I wanted another physical therapy clinic. I started it because active people deserve better than being told to stop doing what they love. You are not fragile. You are adaptable. You can do this. #nationalphysicaltherapymonth #PerformancePhysicalTherapy #SportsRehab #StrengthIsMedicine #physicaltherapy by @vitalforce_physio
REHAB MEETS PERFORMANCE ⚡🏋🏼‍♀️ | MEET DR. RACHEL TAUBER If your rehab only treats where it hurts, you might be missing the bigger picture. Same diagnosis. Different people. Different demands. Different solutions. I'm Dr. Rachel Tauber, a performance physical therapist at Vital Force Physio in Cincinnati, Ohio. 👋🏼 My background includes teaching strength & conditioning and exercise physiology at Northern Illinois University, working with The Ohio State University football team, completing an orthopedic residency, and providing on-field sports coverage. These experiences, along with my own journey through injury, have shaped my approach: treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. Rehab shouldn't stop at pain relief or clearance to return to sport. It should combine movement education, strength & conditioning, and exercise physiology to understand the WHY behind your symptoms and build a plan around YOUR goals. 💪🏼 A few areas I'm passionate about: 🏋🏼‍♀️ Barbell athletes & Olympic weightlifting 🏐 Volleyball performance & return to sport 🦴 Spine health & strength training 🧠 Concussion & vestibular rehab ⚡ VO₂ max & metabolic testing 🩷 Pelvic floor physical therapy Outside the clinic, you'll find me weightlifting, hiking, traveling, hanging out with my cats, or at a concert. 🎶🐈‍⬛ I believe in WALKING THE WALK and helping others do the same. One of my favorite parts of sports PT is celebrating victories with patients, whether that's returning to a sport, hitting a new PR, or achieving something they once thought was out of reach. 🏆 You don't have to be a competitive athlete to have performance goals. Whether you're recovering from an injury, getting back on the court, or simply wanting to feel stronger, let's discover what your body is capable of. 📍 Vital Force Physio | Cincinnati, OH + Virtual 💬 DM me if you're ready to make a change! #performancephysicaltherapy #sportsphysicaltherapy #cincinnatiphysicaltherapy #cincinnatiphysicaltherapist #strengthandconditioning #returntosport #olympicweightlifting #volleyballtraining #spine #concussionrehab #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy #vo2max #vi by @vitalforce_physio
🦵Knee pain doesn’t always mean the knee is the problem If you’re experiencing pain on the outside of your knee, the source may be coming from higher up the chain, including the hip. Your hip plays an important role in controlling the position and movement of your thigh and knee. Weakness, tightness, or poor hip control can contribute to: ▪️Increased stress on the knee ▪️The knee moving inward during squats, running, or landing 🏃 ▪️Changes in movement patterns 🔄 ▪️Increased irritation around the knee⚡️ 🧠Your body works as a connected system. Sometimes, the area that hurts isn’t the area causing the problem. 🎯Control the hip. Improve the movement. If knee pain is limiting your training, running, or everyday activities, a performance physical therapy assessment can help identify what may be contributing to your symptoms. 🚨Don’t just treat where it hurts, find out why it hurts.
