Today, we mourn the loss of a woman whose courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to justice helped shape the history of our community. Dolores Huerta was more than a labor leader; she was a trailblazer, a voice for the voiceless, and a powerful reminder that one person’s determination can ignite change for generations. by @vivapressla

September 11, 2001 — In Memoriam 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, the survivors who carried unimaginable grief, and the first responders and everyday heroes who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember the courage, compassion, sacrifice, and humanity that emerged during one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.

September 11 was a day of profound loss, but it was also a moment when people came together, strangers reached for one another, and the strength of the human spirit became unmistakable.

Today, we honor every life touched by that day and hold their memories close.

May we never forget.
May we always remember. 🇺🇸

Why do we celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

It is not Mexico’s Independence Day.

Cinco de Mayo marks the 1862 victory of Mexican forces over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla , a moment when the underdog defeated one of the most powerful armies in the world.

But here in Los Angeles and across California, the meaning runs deeper.

When news of the victory reached California, Mexican miners, Californios, and Mexican communities celebrated almost immediately. For them, Cinco de Mayo became more than a battle remembered in Mexico. It became a symbol of resilience, unity, and the refusal to surrender to a stronger force.

For many Californios, this day also carried another meaning: cultural pride, belonging, and the determination to keep identity alive in a land where their roots ran generations deep.

That is why Cinco de Mayo still matters.

Not simply because a battle was won — but because it reminds us that history is also made by people who refuse to give up.

🌟 Honoring the Bushmasters 🌟

During WWII, the 158th Infantry Regiment, “The Bushmasters” made history in the Pacific. With many Mexican-American and Native American soldiers in their ranks, they earned a reputation as fierce jungle fighters. Their motto, “Cuidado” (“Take care”), symbolized their toughness and unity.

General Douglas MacArthur himself declared:
✨ “No greater fighting combat team has ever deployed for battle.”

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we remember their courage, sacrifice, and the proud legacy they left for future generations.

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, thousands of Washington, D.C. residents and activists took to the streets in a powerful demonstration against the ongoing federal occupation of their city. The “We Are All D.C.” march, organized by local groups including the ACLU and Free DC, was one of the largest protests yet against President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops and federal agents in the nation’s capital. Marching from Meridian Hill Park to Freedom Plaza, protesters carried banners reading “END THE D.C. OCCUPATION” and chanted for D.C. statehood and the removal of federal forces. A.Press

As the federal occupation continues, residents and activists remain steadfast in their demand for an end to the intervention and for D.C. to be granted full statehood and self-governance. The “We Are All D.C.” march serves as a testament to the resilience of those who refuse to accept the erosion of their rights and freedoms.

Our country has always been a work in progress.

Every decade, we’ve moved forwardsometimes slowly, sometimes in leaps but always with the belief that we could do better.

From the words of our Founding Fathers to the actions of immigrants, abolitionists, civil rights leaders, and everyday people this video is a reflection of who we’ve been and a call to who we must become.

We are at a pivotal moment in history.
Checks and balances are crumbling.
Truth is being tested.
And the future is not promised unless we act.

This is not the time for silence.
It’s the time to move.
To speak.
To push for justice, integrity, and real change.

Watch the words of the past remind us of our responsibility now.
This is The Reasoned Reality Project. And this is our American story still being written.

📣 What’s happening in Texas isn’t just politics , it’s modern-day redlining.
Instead of denying home loans, they’re redrawing district maps and writing restrictive laws to silence Black, Latino, and urban voters.
Legal? Maybe.
Just? Never.
This is how democracy gets stolen in plain sight. 💔

🕊️ REMINDER 🕊️
Prayer is not unheard.
Even in chaos. Even in silence.
Even when the world feels like it’s burning at both ends.

There is a higher power listening.
Your cries. Your questions. Your hopes.
They don’t disappear into the void.

Hold on to your humanity.
Hold on to your light.
And when you feel powerless, remember
Love, faith, and collective action move mountains.

You are not alone.
You are not forgotten.
You are still sacred.

History teaches us what happens when power silences truth. When fear replaces freedom. When no one speaks up.
Tyranny crumbles. But silence lets it rise again.

🌎💰 When Wealth Forgets Humanity

There are people with more money and power than some nations, yet instead of healing the Earth, they build cities in the desert, launch rockets into space, or chase digital fantasies.

While:
• The planet warms and wildfires rage
• Children go hungry
• Clean water runs out
• And mental health crumbles

They dream of new worlds, but neglect the one we’re losing.

This isn’t innovation, it’s evasion.
It’s not progress, it’s privilege on display.

We don’t need another billionaire bunker.
We need justice, healing, and vision grounded in love for this Earth and each other.

Let’s build a future where care is greater than control,
Where humility leads innovation,
And where power finally serves the people.
