Markets markets markets!! I have new wares, new goodies, delightful little gifts for you and your buddies!!! Come along and buy many things, knowing your money is going directly into making sure my cute car doesn't die before her 20th birthday (steerings racks are expensive) (no I won't give her up she means too much to me) (if she dies, I die) by @vivhughesart

Heathland fans unite! 🐛 Not a single market goes by without me luring some unsuspecting member of the public into a conservation about Dorset's heathlands 😌 I have recently got some new (much prettier) frames for these that I'm now selling at my markets!

I'm hoping to turn some of these little critters into keyrings and stickers soon too...which ones are you favourite? 👀

I had a posca pen, some blackboard paint and a dream, and after many many months of chipping away at the I can very proudly say the Discovery Hut at @studlandbay_nt is finished ✨🥂💅🏼 all of it is hand drawn, and if you see any spelling mistakes, keep it to yourself

Huge shout of to the hard working people at the National Trust, particularly the outdoor facilities team who had to face the consequences of actually building my ambitious bone board project (who knew glass was so heavy?) They are stars 💖🫡💖🫡💖

If you head down to Knoll Beach at Studland Bay this hut can be found just past the cafe if you want to go in and learn some stuff and also look at some cool hand drawn art !!!! It took so long please go and look at it :)

I'm so proud of how this came out and if anyone has any information boards or visitor centres or just big rooms they want me to come and draw on just get in touch!!! Bonus points if I get to tell people about wildlife 🦫 by @vivhughesart

Oh did I forget to mention? I got shortlisted for the @pierjournal cover last month 💅🏼 The theme was "becoming", which instantly made me think of the lovely New Forest Cicadas that the @speciesrecoverytrust are working to reintroduce to the New Forest! They spend a lot of their lives underground before becoming the screaming little guys we are more familiar with, and I think there is something very lovely about being able to climb out of your old skin and yell as loudly as possible.

I also got to see this cicada really big on a wall (along with lots of other incredible artists also shortlisted!!) so that was really cool!!! Thank you pier 💖💖💖💖

Also if you've read all of this and/or swiped to the end you've unlocked the BONUS INFORMATION that I now have them at little keyrings because I love them so much - they're on the Etsy shop now 🪲

Here's to a cicada-filled future 🥂 by @vivhughesart

Hi I'm Viv, I'm an artist using predominantly watercolour and pencils, and I love telling everyone about how cool heathlands are. I work a bit in conservation and am dorsets number 1 beaver fan (I ❤️ ecosystem engineers). I also love dragons and crisps. My goal in life is to make people care about nature as much as I do, and help people connect with the cool stuff we have around us!!! by @vivhughesart

Cute wildlife keyrings? Now available on my Etsy? More likely than you think!!!!!!! Show your solidarity with the little woodland critters by getting your hands on one of these! It might even help you communicate with animals* 👀👀

*This is extremely unlikely, but do let me know if it works by @vivhughesart

It's been a long while since I last posted and it's been a rollercoaster of a year so far! But one of the positives has been FINALLY finishing this watercolour piece I started thinking about months ago 🫡

I personally can think of nothing better than frolicking in the woods like all these little critters! If I could be one of these guys for a day I would pick the nuthatch. I want to hop down a tree face first and look sleek and pointy, is that too much to ask?!!!!!!

Anyway it's nice to be back I have lots more to post about so I'll see u all again soon

p.s. this is now available on my Etsy in A3, A4 and A5 👀 jsky by @vivhughesart

Reintroducing @vivhughesart to Mooch Market 🐞 27/06/26 | 12pm-4pm | Dorchester Corn Exchange by @vivhughesart

Some pages from my nature journal/sketchbook!

I've been documenting things that's I've seen since April, trying out different mediums and overall attempting to be more relaxed with my work. It's been really fun, highly recommend! by @vivhughesart

Looking forward to looking at all the amazing artwork on Viv Hughes' stall at Bridport Vegan Market next Saturday 😍

Their illustrations are inspired by British Wildlife 🌱

Find them on Millennium Green from 10am till 3pm on Sat 7th June 💚☀️ by @vivhughesart

What a busy month May has been!! I'm back at work which is why I've been far less active than usual, so here's a little round up of my recent activities 🐦‍⬛💖☀️🦫🐛

I've been keeping a small nature journal of things I've seen recently which has been so much fun! I've also eaten lots of vegan ice cream, dyed my hair pink, done a few markets, labelled lots of stock, and seen a bunch of bugs (this is a dune chafer if you're wondering)

I have plenty of markets coming up in June so keep an eye out for that post coming in the next couple of days 🕺 by @vivhughesart

Keyrings!!! If you've seen me at any markets recently you may have seen the latest addition to my stock - heathland keyrings 🔑🦋

I've wanted to make more physical little items out of my art so I was so chuffed when these arrived!! I only have three designs at the moment: a nightjar, a natterjack toad and an emperor moth

They are finally available on my Etsy so if you feel your keys need a bit more wildlife on them, you can find them there!! Alternatively you can find them with me at my markets 😍

Let me know if there's any other designs you'd like as keyrings, or any other products you'd want to see! 👀
