👻 Happy Halloween and thanks to all our wonderful volunteers, artists and merchants. You made this a wonderful year of Halloween and Neighborhood warm and spirit. We are so thankful for your kindness and support.
🎨The event is fueled by the kindness of members, merchants, friends and families coming together to have a great time for the children and connect with our merchants. Support of five hours or five weeks goes a long way in providing art supplies, candy, snacks and coloring books to students motivated to celebrate their artistic expression and community.
🎃We are so thankful. Join us next year for the 70th year of fun our our next event! 🗓️

Thank you Nanda Chaves and Amelia Chaves for creating these authentic community moments. There is so much effort that goes into the @riverdalekiwanis Halloween Window Painting Contest, and Amelia our President made it look effortless along side past President and Division leader Nanda Chaves, Bob Rubenstein who has worked on this event for 60 years, Richard and Janet Peterson, Al Levi, Scott Krompinger, Eric Shuster, Johanna Edmondson, (and me!) and the rest of our amazing members.
This year, Josh Brosz and Allen Kendall were kind enough to agree to be South Riverdale judges for the competition, and they performed their duties thoughtfully and with extreme care. More thanks to painting day volunteers Susan Jacobs who supports many of our events, Matthew Rosenberg, Ramdat Singh, and the Key Club Members from Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy and The Bronx High School of Science for supporting the gigantic effort.
The merchants in our community were incredibly generous with their time, windows and contributions towards costs of the event.
I am so lucky to be part of this team. Here are just a few pictures of the day. by @vkrompinger

Wonderful evening with the NAACP Williamsbridge at their annual gala. The sweetest part of the evening isn’t captured here, as it included children receiving scholarships for their hard, worthy work as they move into adulthood and into the community. This one just gets better every year. by @vkrompinger
