POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s been a minute, huh? We think it’s time to take a minute and reintroduce ourselves! 🔥

We are Cassi Mikat and Will Pazdziora, and we’re the co-founders and voice teachers behind The Voice Collective. 🤘🏻

We met in grad school, working on our MFAs in Musical Theater Vocal Pedagogy at @bostonconservatory . We quickly became best friends. From there, we realized we shared the same teaching philosophies and dreams of teaching elite-level singers in NYC. And thus, TVC was born.

@cassi.mikat is a rough vocal effects and contemporary styles specialist. She loves to work with singers with big voices. And @william.pazdziora is a vocal function and body integration specialist. He loves to work with dancers and singers who feel stuck. So whichever teacher you take with, you’re in expert hands.

At TVC, we offer cutting-edge vocal training for singers ready to take their artistry to the next level. Ready to take the leap and join the collective? Go to the link in our bio. 🖤 by @voice.collective

We are so excited for what the next year has in store for us at TVC!

If you’re looking for top-notch training, look no further! Head to the link in our bio to join us ✨ by @voice.collective

Hot take: Mix isn’t a register. And understanding why could change the way you sing. 👀

And if you’ve spent years trying to “find your mix” and feeling like you just aren’t getting it, you’re not the problem.

Registration is a hot-button topic in voice pedagogy, but here at TVC, we believe your training should be grounded in evidence, not just tradition.

When we look at what the vocal folds are actually doing, we can identify four laryngeal vibratory mechanisms: Mode 0 (vocal fry), Mode 1 (often associated with chest voice), Mode 2 (often associated with head voice), and Mode 3 (whistle).

What we call “mix” is about how we use resonance strategies and vocal tract adjustments to shape the sound and create seamless transitions between registers. This is something we do in many sung genres in different configurations. This is what voice training is for.

If “sing in your mix” has left you more confused than confident, you’re in the right place.

@mrmaconprickett is doing another solo show at @54below and this one is not to be missed! It’s Saturday, October 10th at 9:30pm. This one is a Jerry Herman tribute and, based on what we’ve heard in the studio, it’s going to be incredible. Macon is already a celebrated cabaret performer and we are so happy to have him in the TVC family. Get your tickets before it’s too late! by @voice.collective

My PSA for dancers: Singing is choreography.

If you’re an actor who identifies as a dancer first and you struggle to find freedom, ease, and consistency in your singing, I created The Singing Dancer just for you.

You already know how to use your body. Now let’s learn how to use that awareness to sing with more freedom and flow.

✨ 6-week course
📅 Wednesdays, 9/30–11/11
⏰ 12:00–2:00 PM
👯 4 students max
💰 $500

We’ll work on building vocal technique that supports the way your body moves, so you can make that gear shift from dancer to singer without losing either one.

Link in bio! I can’t wait to see you in class (or in the studio)!

It’s so easy to get bogged down in the minutiae of technique and distracted by the pursuit of perfection. And we forget why we do this in the first place!

The point of technique is to support expression. It shouldn’t get in the way of it! You want to have as many vocal options as possible to get you to the highest levels of expression. Technique for technique’s sake is boring.

If you’re ready to take your technique to the next level so that you can express yourself more fully, join us for our course, Voice in Training: Technique. Details are at the link in our bio.

Congratulations to @theanniesherman as she joins the company of @masqueradenyc where she’ll be covering Christine, Carlotta, Giry, Meg, and some ensemble tracks.

This is an intensely vocally difficult show and Annie is the perfect person to handle the job. We couldn’t be happier for her! by @voice.collective
