My first playback work is OUT!! 🖤✨

“Shabnam Ki Boondein”* captures the tender, refreshing essence of newfound love, using the delicate metaphor of morning dew to portray pure emotional intimacy and quiet romance.
Tannmay Pahwa’s composition and lyrical phrasing blend romantic nostalgia with a soothing melodic atmosphere, complemented by the expressive vocal interplay between Prathamesh Tambe and Shubhangi C.

Thank you @tannmaypahwa for trusting me with this. I am so incredibly happy that I am lucky enough to get such a beautiful song as my playback debut. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Listen to the full song on YouTube!! Link in my bio 🫶🏻

Picked my favorite song from the [Riffs N Runs] Playlist to cover. ✨

Using AKG C7 for vocal recording!

Yes, I had to re upload it because stupid ig setting of 90 secs applied automatically and the full video didn’t go on.

Please tag @theyhavetherange if you like this! I hope they see this. 🥺

Visualising the “range” using creative and personal ways allows our bodies to freely access parts of our voice it already knows how to access in different contexts. Fear remains the most powerful hinderance for many singers who feel limited in any part of their voice.

Replace fear with permission, and watch the magic happen! ✨

As a singer who wasn’t born with a crazy high range or agility, who had to build it from scratch after extensive training, I feel the most euphoric when I witness a student who never navigated above a middle range, hit notes they never hit before *with ease*!

Here’s the reality - not everybody is born with vocal cords that are flexible without them trying much, but “range” is not something you either have or you don’t; you can build it. The training for each person looks different - some vocal cords need slower, more extensive and gentle flexibility exercise, their bodies respond differently too, but the science remains the same. Anyone can sing high or low, the point is to sing FREELY.

This is how I train someone who hasn’t ever gone beyond Ab4/A4 in a clean vocal tone, who would “flip” to her head voice after that. We focus on promoting vocal cord flexibility, the fundamental requirement for a wide and healthy vocal range. Along with this, we focus on Articulation of the vowels chosen, and Jaw Mobility to allow the projection to be clear and radial. A healthy, “large” sounding note doesn’t just depend on the stretch level and oscillation of the vocal cords, but also the other muscle groups involved in this entire, fascinating mechanism.

Super proud of my darling @mehak_juyal for allowing her body to freely access her higher ranges, now the development and polishing begins!! ❤️❤️

Breaking down Unethical by Faouzia for @jstellar_hq during her Vocal Performance Training Session.

Whenever singers have problems belting in higher ranges, often times it boils down to how the singer perceives the range itself. When a note is perceived as “out of reach”, be rest assured it will be. When a note is perceived as “high up”, be rest assured it will feel like you’re hitting a ceiling after a point.

The way I like to think about it is - The key is to REACH OUT, and LEAN INTO the note. Singing TOWARDS the note and not AT the note.

In this session, we’re working on familiarising her muscles with the chorus lead melody section, and we drill the section in “Yeah Yeah” across keys to promote efficient mouth chamber opening to allow the sound to be projected properly.

Also, send love for my baby Poopoo who was being VERY cute with her during class!!

Breath Orientation training w @jstellar_hq ✨✨

As vocal performers, a lot of us have physically demanding performance requirements where choreography and crowd interaction are big parts of our act. In those situations, it is rather common for singers to struggle to maintain their pitch and tone. It all boils down to breath stabilisation and control over orientation. Our body needs to learn how to prevent the air from leaking, trapping in unwanted areas and losing control over the pressure.

Well practiced air regulation = Consistent pitch and tone across orientations.

J Stellar has choreography and technical vocals ridden sets where her endurance is tested, and thus she requires extensive breathwork and orientation training as a part of her curriculum with me. Doing breathing exercises in different poses, with and without motion primes her for her vocal routines.

She is extremely hard working and I am prouder of her each passing day! ✨🖤
