<Surnames> is an experimental dictionary of Chinese surnames, designed to bridge the cultural gap between Chinese surnames and those of other countries. Unlike traditional phonetic transliterations, <Surnames> delves deeper into the origins and narratives of these surnames, finding cultural resonance between Chinese and foreign surnames. For example, the surname “褚,” which signifies a deep brown color, is translated as Brown or Braun.

<Surnames> includes over 300 common single and compound surnames, spanning a total of more than 500 pages.
