WAHSABI is what happens when Southeast Asian flavors are fused with hard-hitting bass. Under the moniker of DJ / MC WAH (B3CKI) and DJ SABI (madeofchina), this dynamic duo brings a unique twist to the decks, mixing UK Bass, Bass Beton, Indobounce, Jersey Club, Baile Funk, Dubstep and some 2000s pop nostalgia with a handful of Indonesian shenanigans. Just like their name – a playful pun on the Indonesian words “wah” (wow) and slang “sabi” (can do), with a nod to the heat of Japanese wasabi – Wasabi always ignites the dancefloor.

★finally introducing our stars of the night★

CHINYERE
is a hamburg-based sound design student. Growing up, he was surrounded by Igbo traditional music from his father’s side and alternative rock and a lot of Daft Punk from his mother’s side. He has a big heart for gqom, sghubu, and uthayela, especially enjoying rough, noisy sounds with heavy basslines and percussion. In his sets, he mixes these subgenres with african electronic music, UK garage, and breaks to create a precessional dynamic.

WAHSABI

@wahsabi.banget Portraits.

Mereka berdua (@madeofchina__ & @b3ckccciccki ) punya tujuan yg sama, membawa bumbu spesial dari Indonesia. Namanya Funkot, musik yang sempat booming di akhir 90an dan sekarang di cap „Kampungan“ oleh sebagian generasi yang setidaknya menurutku „Denial“. Di beberapa penampilan mereka, tidak hanya Funkot, mereka juga membawa beberapa musik dengan genre lokal di daerah-daerah indonesia, seperti Bass Beton dan Disco Tanah.
