The curious case of Cloud ☁️
Documenting my neuro journey 🧠
Sharing my bunso adventures 🐶
Our Pack: Chuck, Charlie, Tabitha, and Cloud 🇵🇭

POSTS STORIES REELS

Cloud walks a little different — hip dysplasia, neuro tics, days that tire him out fast. But behind every slow step is a small army of people who never gave up on him: our doctors, the acupuncture doctor who makes an exception just for him, and family and friends who keep cheering. Cloud may not know the science behind it all, but he knows he's loved. And honestly? That's everything. 🤍

Why does Cloud move like this? ☁️🧠

It’s the question we’ve been trying to answer, too.

When Cloud’s neurologic tics and involuntary jerking became more noticeable, our veterinary neurologist initially suspected Cerebellar Hypoplasia. So Cloud underwent an MRI to take a closer look at his brain.

But the MRI showed normal brain structure.

And so, we’re still searching for answers.

Cloud’s movements come and go. Some days, you’ll barely notice them. Other days, the jerking can be much more frequent and affect even simple things like walking, eating, or drinking.

But through all of it, he remains our happy, curious, playful little Cloud. 💛

We’re sharing his story because veterinary neurology is still not a common specialty here in the Philippines—and we’re hoping that somehow, this reel reaches someone, somewhere in the world, who has seen a dog like Cloud before.

Are you a veterinary neurologist, veterinarian, researcher, or fur parent who has encountered similar movements in a dog? We would love to hear from you.

And if you know someone in veterinary neurology, please share or send them this reel. Maybe Cloud’s story will find the right person. 🙏🏼☁️

When we entrust our pets to an aftercare service, we are entrusting them with a beloved family member. Not just a body.

In August 2020, we said goodbye to Chewy. He was 15 years old. 🌈🐾

Chewy was my first dog. But more than that, he was our family's first dog.

He was the reason we came together, the one we made plans around, the one who brought us closer as a family. He was there before all the other dogs who would eventually become part of our lives. In so many ways, our family's love for dogs began with him. 💛

When it was time to say goodbye, we entrusted Chewy to Precious Paws Aftercare Services.

They gave us a beautiful, dignified viewing where our family could say our final goodbyes. We witnessed Chewy being placed inside the crematorium, and we stayed until the process was finished.

Thank you, @preciouspawsph 🐾

They were transparent every step of the way, and more importantly, they treated our grief with kindness and respect.

That experience gave us something invaluable: peace of mind during one of the most painful moments of our lives.

With the heartbreaking news about pets reportedly being discarded in plastic bags after their families entrusted them to an aftercare service, I can't help but think of Chewy and how grateful we were that his final journey was handled with dignity.

Losing a dog is never just losing a pet. It's losing a family member. A piece of your everyday life. A love that can never be replaced.

And that's why pet aftercare services matter so much. We entrust them not just with our pets' remains, but with our love, our grief, and the responsibility of giving our beloved companions the dignity they deserve.

My heart breaks for the families affected by this tragedy. They had already endured the pain of saying goodbye, only to face the possibility of having that grief reopened in the most unimaginable way.

No family should have to question whether their beloved pet was treated with dignity after death.

To Chewy, thank you for being our first. For bringing us together. For teaching us how deeply a dog can become part of a family.

Six years later, you are still loved, still remembered, and always part of us. 🤍
