Tuesday Night Thoughts

When you are chasing any goal, there are going to be peaks and valleys. It can be discouraging at times, but that is where growth truly occurs.

This is something I have dealt a lot with in my return to play. In total honesty, I expected it to be going a lot better than it has in terms of production, but I am so thankful it hasn’t because my flaws have been exposed and I’ve been given an opportunity to fix them.

Learn to appreciate the moments where things aren’t perfect because it will allow you to appreciate those positive moments that much more.

I’ve found the more I look at the person next to me and compare the more I lose focus.

It is in our competitive nature to try and track our progress by putting ourselves side by side with other, but we will never truly be satisfied with this thought process.

Set your own measurables and worry about those. It is a daily battle, but this has helped me find my greatest growth.

Sometimes its as simple as it sounds.

In life, we can get comfortable where we are at and our progress can stall. In order for growth, we need to challenge ourselves to extend past our comfort zone.

Even if we fail, we will learn something from it. by @wall_state

Had the pleasure of seeing the Keeper of the Cup tonight.

I think he is such a great example of what Wall State means to me.

He spends his entire year protecting every hockey player’s most cherished item and he always has a smile on his face.

I think he is probably a person that gets appreciating the process because every year he gets to see a group of men see their dreams come true.

Calm has always been a struggle for me.

This is why Fred is such a big inspiration. He has gone through many trials throughout his careee but has remained stoic through it all. He’s truly someone I’ve grown to really look up to.

Why is Coregulation important in Sports?

I think it is what holds the fabric of a team together. When you present a calm, confidence to your team, it shows and they take on that same feeling.

This is something I struggle with at times when things are going bad. I can get frustrated communicating what we need to do as a team which leads to frustration from others. Then nothing gets solved!

Be the rock for your team!
