POSTS STORIES REELS

October 📖🎃🖤 I spent a lot of time in nature and read quite a few books.

I had one DNF this month, unfortunately it was the Astarion: Baldur's Gate 3 book 🫣 I made it 70% and just didn't care anymore.

The of my reads were better, I got to read an ARC of @heyashposton upcoming release. I really enjoyed it and am planning on posting my review soon.

I am only 4 books away from hitting my reading goal 🙌🏻

I was so happy to be back in this world! Movement 1 was messyyyy, I wish all the volumes were released at the same time, but I still had fun reading this one. There is a lot of conflict and political expansion occuring, I'm very curious to see the bigger picture and how everything plays out in A Court of Forgotten Melody.

A few general thoughts with spoilers.

•Azriel needs therapy. Turns out I like his character better when we don't have his POV.

•Nesta is still that bitch (&possibly the only one using her brain in this book)

•I love Nessian in Silver Flames, but Cassian was not a good mate in this one.

•At this point I support Lucien's rights and wrongs and want him to get revenge. The inner circle has treated him soooo poorly.

•Is Erebos valg or am I overanalyzing?

•Cassian and Azriel abandoned training the Valkyries! 😡

•Elain continues to be insufferable

•“His heart is breaking, his soul is cleaving” 😭

•I am excited for Rhys to train Nesta!

•I need more Eris. Move over bat boys it is time for the Vanserra brothers to shine. 🦊

Okay that's all for now 🫶🏻 if you have read it let's chat!

"Your strength is quiet. Resilient. Like the daisies. It grows where nothing else can, in the slightest of cracks, and it weathers the frost, the deep cold. It survives."

John has done it again! The Wolves of War, the first book in the Wolfheart Chronicles duology, was amazing. This is a slavic mythology inspired epic fantasy with magic, betrayal, adventure, sacrifice, wolves & magical beings, and at the heart of it all family.

The book is told through multiple POVs, I loved them all, but was definitely drawn to Halia & Dagmar the most. Halia is central to the story so I know she is going to have a huge part in the next book, but I am also curious to see how Dagmar's storyline plays out.

I love the subtle tribute John made to his family via the main family unit in this book.

Add this one to your TBR immediately.

Thank you so much @orbitbooks_us for the advanced copy.

I have mixed feelings on this one. The book has an interesting concept and themes, with a take on vampires I've never seen before. Plus a bit of religious horror and an Indian set on revenge, but I struggled with the author's writing style. This was my first time reading something by him so I do not have anything to compare it to, in my opinion the narrative was jumbled or lacked direction.

If you have been interested in reading this one, I would still recommend you do. If you have already read this, let me know what you liked or didn't like?

"Yesterday's gone on down the river and you can't get it back "

My copy of Lonesome Dove from @thebrokennbinding arrived and it is absolutely gorgeous. I'm obsessed with all of the details, it was worth the wait. 📖✨

This was a great novella! I ended up binge reading this in one night 🙈 I can't wait for the next book in the series, Threshing Day revealed so much about the signets, dragons, and their riders. I went down a rabbit hole looking at theories. I kind of want to reread the series soon. 👀

Ridoc's chapter was the exact chaos I anticipated. He is my favorite character and I love how well his dragon matches his energy.

Rating: 4⭐

And after many failed attempts, I finally secured a dragon on Rebecca's website dragon kind. 🙌🏻

I am about halfway through The Wolves of War by @john_gwynne_author and I am really enjoying it! He's a fantastic fantasy author, I highly recommend checking out his books if you have not.

I also picked up Dances With Wolves this morning, I like to juggle a couple of books at once and this one has been on my radar for awhile.

Then I think I am going to get into some fall reads, let me know if there is anything I should add to my fall TBR 👀

"Would that things were different. But if it's too much to bear, take heart: I am made of stone. And if you do not feel you are strong enough, I will shoulder any weight you give me."

Rachel is the queen of gothic fantasy 🖤✨ This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint.

I feel like I can't properly review without spoiling things, but just know I loved it and it was a great conclusion to the duology.
