And in the end, the most important things in life aren’t things at all. It’s the fleeting moments; The fragments of joy and awe and wonder that we experience for only an instant that completely transform our inner world, then exist only in our memory. Like a mosaic, or bits of gathered sea glass along the shore. It’s only in the collecting of small pieces that we come to realize the lives we always dreamed of exist in our every waking days.

México querido, me robaste un pedazote del corazón… y qué bonito que haya sido así.

A postcard from the West Indies. Salt, rum, and nutmeg. Sun-kissed skin and an endless rotation of wet bikinis. And the best yet, 🏴‍☠️

The secret to having a life that is great is having the courage to do bold things. Even when it’s hard. Even when it’s uncomfortable. And especially when it’s scary. In twenty years of traveling and financing my life as an entrepreneur this rings true now more than ever. Believe in yourself. Walk away from what’s comfortable when deep down you know your life is worth more. Your world is only as small as the box you place around it. Let this be your reminder that your opportunity for existence is limitless, and fortune favors the bold. 🏴‍☠️

Someplace in between.

I think we leave little echoes of ourselves in the wild places we used to roam. Imprints nature remembers where our hearts once felt free. And if we’re lucky to return, it whispers ‘hello, we’ve kept this version of you.’ As if a chapter of our life remains etched in the rings of the trees, and they saved those memories for us all the while.

My gratitude for nature is insurmountable.

Nothing more soul warming than when old tour family pulls thru town! Hands down my favorite part of living back in America (that and Whole Foods). It’s been endlessly fun to grow up together amongst an industry tribe of fun loving nomads and perpetual mavericks while we all parallel navigate the wildest career imaginable. I don’t know when or how we all became ‘grown’ but the bonds and camaraderie of this carnie life last forever. Decades strong and still going! It’s been surreal to see our little misfit Y2K California surf/skate/punk/reggae scene grow into the sprawling octopus that it is today, many thanks to these torch bearers and others who laid the foundation. Now it’s a massive genre all its own, touching every part of the globe.

What I love most about the sea is how she constantly changes and demands total surrender. Our first 3 days of a weeklong delivery thrashed us around only to reward us with glassy seas and epic sunsets for the solstice. Nature makes you work for it and she doesn’t give her best parts away for free. To experience these moments in total isolation is magic 💫

Happy summer solstice 🌞 Boat delivery update from offshore OBX: Some crappy swells around Charleston, frying pan at sunrise, and all glass now.

One of the most beautiful venues I’ve gotten to work in 🤩 We often do shows in the grandiose Gilded Age theaters, but this tiny jewelbox easily clears Top 5 for how meticulously it’s preserved! After touring this country inside out and backwards a hundred times over I’d vouch that the sleepiest cities are usually where we find the coolest spots.

Finally starting to feel like spring. It’s been strange experiencing winter after 14y in the tropics. The jury’s still out, but I look forward to watching flowers bud and the trees turn green 🌱

Winter stillness. New appreciation for our earth in her sleepy, hibernation season.

Mood: Slow down. Winters are new to me, as are the shorter days and several months of quiet (mostly indoor) stillness that comes with it. Learning to lean in to seasons of rest and reflection.
