From a Texas cattle ranch to the heart of the Pilbara 🤎🐄

Established in 2001 from the original Wyloo Station, @cheelaplainsstation is a family-owned working cattle station run by Evan and Robin Pensini.

Robin grew up ranching and rodeoing in Texas before studying Animal Science. A trip to Western Australia in the early 1990s for beef industry work experience brought her to Wyloo Station (and to Evan).

Evan moved north from his family farm when his parents bought Wyloo Station, growing up mustering cattle on foot long before helicopters. His deep understanding of the land led to rotational, rest-based grazing practices that continue to shape Cheela today.

Together, Evan and Robin raised four boys on the station, building a home from sea containers and homeschooling through the Port Hedland School of the Air.

Today, Cheela Plains is both a working cattle station and a station stay between Ningaloo Reef and Karijini National Park, where travellers can soak up the sunset, sit by the campfire, and connect with the Pilbara 🧡

Meet The Shallcross Family of Bullara Station🤠🐮

Tucked between Exmouth and Coral Bay sits @bullarastation - 250,000 acres of red dirt, big skies, and boundless energy. And at the heart of it all are Tim and Edwina Shallcross and their three daughters, the family who’ve turned this slice of the outback into a thriving, welcoming haven for travellers from across the world 🧡

The Shallcross family have called Bullara home since the 1950s. Originally a merino station during the wool boom, the station has evolved through the years, today it runs around 3,500 head of drought master cattle and welcomes guests eager to taste station life firsthand.

What started with just six campsites and six rooms has grown into one of WA’s most loved outback stays - and it’s not hard to see why. Every season, there’s something new: a fresh touch, a clever idea, or another space for visitors to gather and swap stories under the stars ✨

People are at the core of Bullara. Whether you’re a guest, seasonal worker, or simply passing through, you’ll be greeted with warmth, laughter, and a true sense of belonging.

Meet the Warroora crew 🤠✨

Welcome to @warroora_station - a 265,000-acre stretch of coastal paradise where red dirt meets the Ningaloo Reef 💙

Since 1994, the Horak family has called this place home - living a life built on hard work, resilience, and love for the land.

The earliest lease dates back to 1880, when The Quailberough Squatting Co. acquired a vast expanse of 20,000 acres. More than a century later, Marty Horak and his family have transformed Warroora swapping the sheep station for cattle.

Take a stroll through the old shearing shed and you’ll still catch the scent of lanolin, a quiet reminder of its woolly past. During your stay, experience golden sunsets, red dust, and the turquoise edge of the Ningaloo coastline ✨

A little island time never hurt anyone 🏝️

With turquoise waters, wild coastlines and plenty of room to explore, @dirkhartogisland is one pretty special corner of WA 💙

It has quite the history, too. Back in 1616, Dutch explorer Dirk Hartog landed here, leaving behind a pewter plate at what is now Cape Inscription.

There’s plenty to discover, from the island’s historic shearing shed to a 4WD adventure out to the spectacular Blowholes and Surf Point sanctuary zone 🐢

Getting there is all part of the adventure. Bring your own 4WD and catch the barge across from Steep Point, or jump aboard 100% Wild with Island Life Adventures for a boat transfer from Denham.

There’s still time to squeeze in a little island escape before the season wraps up for another year.

Only a few Sunday Burger Nights left at @cheelaplainsstation 🍔🔥

It’s been a big season for these campfire burgers, with just a few Sundays left to pull up a seat by the fire and enjoy a burger under the Pilbara night sky.

The communal campfire is fired up at 6:30pm, with beef burgers cooked over the coals, plus a range of sides and sauces to build your own 🥫

Send this to someone who owes you a last minute road trip! 🤠

Road trip rule: never say no to a scone 🧁

The Nullarbar at @fraserrangestationstay has added freshly baked scones to the menu, so you can now pull in for a cuppa, a scone and a well-earned break from the road 🚗
