Ball’s Falls, the place which is not only beautiful but full of history too.

Sometimes the best adventures are just a short drive away.

Spent the day exploring the breathtaking Upper and Lower Ball’s Falls in Lincoln, Ontario. Surrounded by beautiful autumn colours, peaceful forest trails, the sound of flowing water and spectacular views of the Niagara Escarpment. What a perfect way to enjoy the last day of fall!

💧 Two beautiful waterfalls to discover:

Upper Falls – approximately 11 metres high, a wide curtain-style waterfall.

Lower Falls – approximately 27 metres high, a stunning classic waterfall.

🌊 Did you know?
The waterfalls are fed by Twenty Mile Creek, which depends on rainfall and seasonal runoff. Their appearance changes dramatically throughout the year. After spring snowmelt and heavy rain, the falls can become powerful, rushing torrents. During dry summer and fall periods, the water may slow down to a gentle flow. Every visit can look different!

🥾 Hiking information:

Cataract Trail to Lower Falls: approximately 1.3 km one way (30–40 minutes).

Cataract Trail to Upper Falls: approximately 1.7 km one way (40–50 minutes).

Easy to moderate hiking, with some steep and rocky sections.

Allow approximately 1–1.5 hours to explore both falls and enjoy the scenery.

🚗 Distance from the GTA:
Approximately 60–100 km from different parts of the GTA, depending on where you start.

From Toronto: approximately 1–1.5 hours by car.

From Mississauga: approximately 45–60 minutes.

From Hamilton: approximately 30–40 minutes.

📍 Location: Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, 3292 Sixth Avenue, Lincoln, Ontario.

🎟️ Admission & parking: Paid vehicle admission. Check the official NPCA website for current rates before visiting.

✨ A beautiful destination for nature lovers, photographers, families and anyone looking for a peaceful day trip.

Sometimes you don't need to travel far to find something beautiful. ❤️

On our way to Tobermory from GTA, we stopped at Inglis Falls located just a few minutes from downtown Owen Sound, ON 🇨🇦

This beautiful conservation area features a towering waterfall, often considered one of the best in Ontario. On a clear day, the viewing platform even gives you a glimpse all the way down to Owen Sound Harbour 🌊

The area also has nearly 8 km of hiking trails with access to the Bruce Trail, making it a perfect stop for nature lovers and road trips.

Found a quiet fall paradise in Muskoka! 🍁🤍✨

Hatchery Falls delivered all the fall foliage with zero crowds. The short hike down to the main falls is super accessible, and bonus points for free parking and a cute picnic area right at the start. 🧺🍂

Honestly wish it was summer so we could take a dip in the waterfall pool, but the autumn views are making up for it! 🌊

Save this spot for your next Muskoka weekend getaway! 📍📌

I highly recommend visiting @chutesprovpark this fall 😍🍂

Located 5 hours from Toronto and a place that pleasantly surprised me. I can’t believe it took so long to explore.

Twin bridges trail is 5.3km offering multiple view points of the falls and rapids of Aux Sables River.

The park is located in the town of Massey, Ontario. Located along Highway 17 between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie.

This time last year was great weather to get out and start enjoying the season change🫶🍂

6 Waterfalls.. in just ONE day 🤯 ON THE WAY TO TOBERMORY
90 mins total driving, all 5-min walks from parking

You don’t need to hike 5km for these — you can see them in Crocs 👟

📍 The 6-stop road I did (south to north on Hwy 10 to Tobermory):
1. Hoggs Falls — 3 min walk, free roadside parking
2. Eugenia Falls — 30M, tallest in Grey County, 2 min walk
3. Holstein Dam — Next to the road drive over
4. Jones Falls — hidden 7 mins from Inglis Falls
5. Inglis Falls — 18M cascade, official viewpoint
6. Mc Gowan Falls — top view only, 2 min walk

All free parking, all viewpoint only — stay on marked trails.
Total time between all 6: ~90 mins from Flesherton to Owen Sound.

This is the Tobermory road edition — different from my 7 waterfalls near Toronto. Save it for Labour Day weekend.

Waterfalls & kites — the perfect Ontario road trip!

Today we stopped at Eugenia Falls on our way to the #HopevilleKiteFestival! 🪁✨

📍 Eugenia Falls Conservation Area, Grey Highlands

Just a little over 2 hours from the GTA, Eugenia Falls makes for a great road-trip stop. The falls drop about 30 metres into the Cuckoo Valley, with beautiful viewpoints along the trail. 🌿💦

🥾 Trail: Easy, family-friendly walk of about 1 km
🚗 Parking: $10 per vehicle
🎟️ Falls: Free to visit — you’re paying for parking
🌲 Tip: Stay on the marked trails and behind the safety barriers. Access to the top/base of the falls and beyond the fences is prohibited.

We loved making this a little nature stop before heading off to see the kites! 🪁💙

Would you add Eugenia Falls to your next Ontario road trip? 👇

3 waterfalls. One afternoon. 💦 somehow this is 90 mins from Toronto.

Welcome to Fergus, Ontario — aka Little Scotland without crossing the Atlantic 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

📍 Fergus Falls
📍 St. Andrew’s Mill Cascade
📍 Menzies Lane Cascade

Grand River, stone bridges, historic downtown — the most underrated day trip from Toronto.
Would you chase all 3 in one afternoon? by @waterfallsofontario

I am loving the new bridge at Lower Rockway Falls📍💦

I’m always straight to the main falls, but the other day we decided to do a quick lower loop. The side trail to the lower falls is a 2.1km out and back trail ( or was until they built this beautiful bridge) we then passed over and continued another roughly 2 km and looped back to the top trail.

The water is still flowing strong, and the greenery is in abundance. There’s just something so peaceful about being out in the trees, especially following running water.

Ps. Parking is still free 👌 **
