Hey beautiful people! ✨ We are excited to partner with @shania__j for her second book signing!! This is an amazing opportunity for the children to get a signed copy of the award winning book ‘Dear Little Black Girl’. Not only is this a book signing, Shania put together some creative stations for the kids! Some activities include a bracelet station, hot cocoa station, a photo booth and more! @wattsavenuefoundation partnered with @saintedgedesign to have custom jewelry as a gift for the children! This event was all about creativity, and Ms. Tae came with it! Saint Edge Design is committed to spreading individuality through style. We appreciate the attention to detail, your time, and your talents! Not to mention each bracelet is different. 🌟 #booksigning #blackauthors #blackauthorsmatter #saintedgedesign #customjewelry #blackownedbrand #vanonprofit #rvanonprofit #communityovercompetition #communityoutreach #reachoneteachone #keysopendoors #youthempowerment #readingforkids #readingtime📖 #reading #literacymatters #rechargingthecommunity #wattsavenue #wattsave by @wattsavenuefoundation
Thank you SOOO MUCH @shania__j This gorgeous woman donated signed copies of her book ‘Dear Little Black Girl’ also school supplies to Watts Avenue! I love her so much because she’s genuine. This woman came to my house to drop off books (bc I’m recovering) most people speak on what they want to do but her actions match her words!!! Her story is powerful, thank you for sharing with me. When the time is right speak your truth because you inspired me today! We will collaborate in the future 🌸🫶🏾🤎. I will probably edit this post, but I had to share the love!!! This book spoke to the little black girl inside of me by @wattsavenuefoundation
Watts Ave Foundation had the opportunity to attend the second annual “Give What You Can, Take What You Need” event hosted by JJD Heart Foundation. This was our first networking event! It was an amazing opportunity to help those in need and be surrounded by other likeminded individuals. While at the event, I was able to talk with people in the community on what Watts Avenue Foundation is all about. This experience helped us to gather information and make necessary changes to our organization. While preparing for this event, our founder had to do a lot of research. In order to help a community, you have to understand its history and Petersburg has so much! These past few weeks helped me as a founder understand myself, my family, and community better. After all, to not know your history is to not know yourself. We have to understand where we come from to prepare for where we’re going. Share this post & tag 2 people!! 🫶🏾🖤💚 #rechargingthecommunity #blacksocialworkers #mentalhealthawareness #nonprofit #rvanonprofit #peoplenotprofit #reachoneteachone by @wattsavenuefoundation

Our founder @therealanitraj would like to thank @walmart in Leesburg, Va. for the school supplies for the 2022-23 school year. These supplies will go towards our VERY FIRST back to school event! (Thanks Mama Joyce & Ms. Stacey) I want to thank God publicly for everything He’s doing privately. For the back-to-school event we are blessed to partner with some amazing local black owned businesses. Last year Watts Avenue Foundation donated 2,000 supplies to @petersburgcitypublicschools ! We are so excited to see what this year brings. This year we will be donating supplies to students in surrounding areas: Petersburg, Hopewell, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Richmond, Emporia, and Fredericksburg. Here are some tips for pushing through when you feel defeated: 1. What does trusting the process look like: Training your mind differently, having different expectations, letting go of environments, habits, and people. Get accustomed to the new version of you. 2. How to maintain during the storm: It’s easy for others to see God’s love on your life but what happens when you don’t feel it? What happens when you’re working, and nobody sees you? Be ready to keep working. Improve yourself watch your dreams come true. Don’t think God’s forgotten about you. When God builds something, no man can break your legacy. 3. Be compassionate towards others during the storm: everyone is going through something so treat people with love. Understand that we all won’t get along, but we can effectively coexist. Also, understand our reactions are a part of a chain reaction. 4. Remember to much is given much is required: no one said it was going to be easy. new levels require new expectations. Of course, things will be challenging but not hard. Take necessary steps to achieve your goals. Sometimes I feel like I’m not doing enough but Gods timing is amazing. Be 1% better than you were yesterday. Seize the day and prepare for tomorrow. If you needed a sign this, was it! #rechargethecommunity by @wattsavenuefoundation

If you know anyone in need please DM us and allow 1-2 business days for a response. Our founder is a full time student and entrepreneur. Our team is small but we make big moves! 💚🖤✨ #rechargethecommunity by @wattsavenuefoundation
