🌈🀘It was fantastic to welcome the sisters back @WAXPIGEON Art Studio on Tuesday evening... and this time they brought their younger brother along too!!! 🎨✨ Our studio was an explosion of colour as we created melted crayon compositions on canvas boards. We began by painting vibrant ombrΓ© backgrounds to set the scene, before adding bold silhouettes and imagery that became the springboard for our spectacular crayon explosions. Using heat, we melted the wax to create dramatic bursts of colour before refining each piece with paint pens and final details. The results were completely unique... From glowing sunsets and rainbow trees to striking snakes and abstract compositions... each one reflecting the imagination of its creator. ❀️🀘 It was a really brilliant evening filled with creativity, music, laughter, and good vibes from start to finish. A real pleasure to teach and host such enthusiastic young artists. Looking forward to seeing what they create next!!! ❀️🀘 Whether you've got a budding young artist at home or you're simply looking for dedicated time to develop your own creative skills, our 1:1 and small group private Art tuition is designed for all ages and all abilities. We offer bespoke 1:1 and small group private Art tuition for all ages, young and old. ALL abilities welcome! Our sessions are tailored to each individual. Whether it's drawing, painting, spray paint, graffiti, illustration, sculpture or portfolio development, we can create a programme to suit your interests and goals. SO SO late in posting about last Wednesday's LIFE DRAWING @WAXPIGEON Art Studio!!! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜… Sorry everyone... I've been a little under the weather. Feeling much better now though! πŸ’ͺ Last Wednesday's "Less is More" session was another fantastic evening in the studio. As always, the atmosphere was relaxed, creative and full of laughs. Working with a limited palette of just three colours proved to be both fun and challenging! Some experiments were huge successes... others, perhaps not quite as successful πŸ˜…... but that's exactly what these themed evenings are all about. Trying new ideas, pushing ourselves and embracing the unexpected. It was also brilliant to welcome a new face to the group! πŸ‘ She fitted right in, brought plenty of laughs, and hopefully we'll see her back this Wednesday for more drawing shenanigans!!! ❀️🀘 A massive thank you to everyone who came along. These evenings simply wouldn't happen without our amazing artists and models, and we genuinely appreciate every single one of you for making Wednesday nights such a special part of WAXPIGEON. And, of course, a huge thank you to Karen, who, as always, kept us on our toes with another fantastic selection of challenging poses! This Wednesday we're ending the term in FULL COLOUR! 🌈✨ Our final theme is "Full Spectrum"... so wear your brightest clothes and embrace every colour of the rainbow!!! ❀️🀘🌈✨ Better still... bring a brightly dressed friend and you'll BOTH get 33.33% OFF! 🀣 That's just Β£10 each instead of Β£15! 🌈🀘 See you on Wednesday. Bring a friend. Let's get creative. 🌈🀘 xx . . . #waxpigeonartstudio #lifedrawing #figuredrawing #fullspectrum #creativecommunity by @waxpigeon
🎨 PRIVATE TUITION // SATURDAY RECAP βœ‚οΈπŸ–€ Completely forgot to take any photos today... So, you'll have to make do with this little lino-cut snapshot instead! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ“Έ Doh. This morning's young artists filled the studio with colour, ink and plenty of messy printmaking as we finally printed the lino-cut blocks they'd carved during their previous session. We experimented with different colour combinations, layered inks and some lovely ombrΓ© effects... every print had its own personality. πŸŒˆπŸ–¨οΈ Then this afternoon, a second group of young artists took over the carving tools, designing and cutting their own lino-print blocks. Although... we were briefly sidetracked by a little graffiti intermission! πŸŽ¨πŸ˜… Two completely different sessions, lots of creativity, and plenty of laughs along the way. I genuinely love my Saturdays in the studio. 🀘❀️ xx We offer bespoke 1:1 and small group private Art tuition for all ages, young and old. ALL abilities welcome! LIFE DRAWING continues this Wednesday @WAXPIGEON Art Studio 7–9pm This week's theme is... "Less is More" Sometimes creativity thrives with fewer choices. This week we're setting ourselves a simple challenge: choose just THREE colours and create your entire evening's drawings using that limited palette. Mix your favourite media however you like... oil pastels, charcoal, Posca pens, coloured pencils, Sharpies, chalk, inks... anything goes... but only three colours!!! Limiting your palette encourages stronger decisions, bolder mark-making and a fresh way of seeing the figure. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist, everyone is welcome. Bring your own materials or use ours... ALL materials are provided. Complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks are available, and if you fancy a glass of wine or a beer while you draw, feel free to BYO. No pressure. No experience required. Just two hours of drawing, experimenting and creating together. Book ahead or just turn up. Bring a friend. Let's get creative. ❀️🀘 xx Β£15 per session Booking: https://bookwhen.com/waxpigeon . . . #waxpigeonartstudio #lifedrawing #limitedpalette #figuredrawing #creativity by @waxpigeon
Another lovely afternoon of private tuition @WAXPIGEON Art Studio. 🎨 πŸŒ§οΈπŸ–ŒοΈ The British weather had other ideas today... so instead of heading down to the River Witham for some plein air painting, we stayed warm and dry in the studio. Using a beautiful reference image of the Scottish Highlands, we explored atmospheric washes, layering greens, and creating depth across the landscape. As always, it was a relaxed afternoon full of good conversation, plenty of painting, and another step forward in Ewan's growing confidence with watercolour. We might not have painted outdoors today, but the Highlands made a pretty good substitute! β›°οΈπŸŽ¨ We offer bespoke 1:1 and small group private Art tuition for all ages, young and old. LIFE DRAWING continues... TONIGHT @WAXPIGEON Art Studio!!! ❀️🀘 It might be grey, wet and miserable outside... but inside the studio we'll be turning up the colour! 🌧️➑️🌈 Tonight's theme is "Opposites Attract" as we explore the power of complementary colours... those bold colour pairings that create energy, contrast and vibrancy. Expect expressive mark-making, rich colour relationships and plenty of experimentation using coloured pencils, chalks, oil pastels, Posca pens, Sharpies and more. Complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks are always available. If you enjoy a glass of wine or a beer while you draw, you're also welcome to bring your own. No pressure. No experience required. Just two hours of drawing, observing and creating together. Book ahead or just turn up. Bring a friend. What a brilliant evening @WAXPIGEON Art studio!!! 🀘❀️ Tonight was all about creating weird, wonderful monsters as two sisters filled the studio with imagination, laughter, and bold ideas. From fluffy creatures and googly-eyed beasts to quirky characters with huge personalities, every drawing was completely unique! We pushed colour to the max, experimenting with Posca pens, watercolour and fine-liner illustration, exploring how bright, expressive colours can completely transform a character. πŸŒˆπŸ–οΈ We also squeezed in a super-speed perspective drawing tutorial to help with a creative RE homework project. It definitely deserved more time, but hopefully it's given them a great starting point! πŸ“βœοΈ To finish the session, we had a quick look at creating A4 mini comics. The girls are going to continue designing their own comic stories at home and bring them back to the studio next time... I can't wait to see what adventures their characters get up to! πŸ“šπŸ’₯ A fantastic evening all round... BBC Radio 1 Dance providing the soundtrack, the sisters bringing the energy, positivity and endless creativity!!! ❀️🀘 Whether you've got a budding young artist at home or you're simply looking for dedicated time to develop your own creative skills, our 1:1 and small group private Art tuition is designed for all ages and all abilities.
