We know the cost of war.

A guitar with no one left to play it.
A schoolbag with no child left to carry it.
A watch that has stopped.
A toy left behind

On October 7, Israeli families were shattered by killing, hostage-taking, and loss. In the three years since, Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank have endured mass killing, destruction, displacement, hunger, injury, and the loss of entire families.

Some of those bereaved Israelis and Palestinians later joined the Parents Circle – Families Forum, choosing, despite everything they had endured, not to let grief become another reason for revenge.
For years, we have said the same thing, and we say it again today:

We do not need more bereaved families to prove that this path has failed.

How many more families must lose someone they love before we choose another way?

We stand with all bereaved families, Palestinians and Israeli, and share in their grief.

The exhibition "Personal Effects" was presented last month at the People's Peace Summit.
The audience was invited into stories of 16 Israelis and Palestinians - members of the Parents Circle–Families Forum - that were photographed alongside everyday objects that belonged to loved ones they lost.

The exhibition presents what remains - through quiet memories, futures that will never be fulfilled. These objects bear witness to our shared humanity. The exhibition asks viewers to encounter people not as statistics within a bloody conflict, but as human beings.

We thank the PCFF members who opened their hearts to us once again and chose to tell their stories through the personal effects that remain.

“If I had a magic wand, I would use it to go home.” This is just one of many powerful sentences shared by the young co-creators of Dear Future, children living in an orphanage in Cali, Colombia.

Dear Future is a project we’ve been working on for the past year, which just premiered its first exhibit in Union Square, NYC. We couldn’t be more proud!

We’re forever grateful for this project’s family.
