We did a thing with @johnleemusic and @hipdozer! ‘wings’, the first single off our new collab EP ‘soft fall’, is now flying around on all the places we listen to music 🪽

I think this is one of the most emotional lofi tracks we’ve contributed to. John really did just fly with what we sent him and added some beautiful sounds during his production process.

Keep making art with people. Keep the connection going. So glad we did this 🤙

Motio

(Latin) the act of changing place or position. Movement or motion.

If you’re in steady motion right now, needing music to keep you in momentum our album circadian might work for you 🚶

circadian was a treat to record. All 24 tracks. I’m grateful to everyone who has taken the time to listen to what has become one of my favourite albums I’ve been a part of.

If you haven’t yet listened to circadian, find 24 minutes and go for it. Dan and I are so proud of it. It’s full of sounds, glitches, notes, effects, noises that were completely improvised during the recording process.

And this year it’s 5 years since we started @wearesolae. This year we have surpassed the 10 million stream milestone, and will be releasing music with two of the world’s most prominent lofi record labels alongside artists that we’ve come to see as friends.

Thanks so much for listening - it’s been a ride! 🚴

more slowness this sabbath

Thank you, everyone, for your words on circadian. It seems it’s helping some of us to slow down 🌿

‘lentitude’ - what a word by @wearesolae

Lassitude // a state of physical or mental weariness

At this point in circadian, the individual is at the end of their day, spent, drifting ever closer towards sleep

the natural rhythm continues

On our quest to find beautiful and lesser known words for circadian’s track names we came across ‘sylvan’

As you listen, you might hear the sonic narrative of the person in circadian returning to a rural haven for peace and holy communion

🌿 by @wearesolae

circadian features 24 track names that we fell in love with and that perfectly fitted the album’s world we built sonically. Some are unusual. We’re going to share their meanings because they deserve a spotlight and, well, who doesn’t wanna widen their vocabulary with beautiful sounding words 🤷‍♂️

Today I release a 24-track album. It’s gentle, it’s driven, it’s nostalgic. It’s a 24 hour day in 24 minutes, with each track fluctuating between different tempos and keys to mimic the typical flow of my days.

All the ideas were tracked in one day. We then added ambience to follow a story of someone who begins their day in their quiet village, heads into the city, and returns. Listen intently and you’ll hear the narrative.

Today is Pentecost Monday. We chose to release circadian on this day as it marks the resumption of Ordinary Time after Easter. It felt fitting for a cyclical, time-themed album.

If you’re feeling nostalgic, or need a repeatable album to play in the background whilst you focus or relax, this one’s for you.
