COMING SOON! We’ve been working on something big in Freedmen’s Town... but that’s nothing new because big dreams, bold moves, and Black excellence is what built this place.

This #Juneteenth, Houston Freedmen’s Town Conservancy is officially launching our Building What We Started campaign. We’re calling it a campaign, but it’s really a calling to honor the legacy of Freedmen’s Town by continuing the work our ancestors began 160 years ago: building thriving Black communities from the ground up.

🧱 As part of the BWWS campaign, HFTC is partnering with @wearestrong.co on a timeless docuseries spotlighting 160 Black-owned businesses across Houston, celebrating the people and passion still shaping this city’s future. It’s our way of showing the economic power of our community and the beauty in our everyday brilliance.

📺 Subscribe to our YouTube channel and follow us on socials at @houstonfreedmenstown, sign up for our newsletter for updates, and help us amplify these stories by sharing them with your people. Let’s build what we started—together.

Special thank you to our inaugural BWWS Partners: @lonair and @dathree, co-founders @the.heist.agency, @djelevated of @soulcontrol, @chasitie.lindsay and @chefcourtneyhtx, co-owners of @mobrunchandbrews.

Recent campaign for @converse that our @theoutfitbystrong team worked on. This talented group keep coming up with new “out of the box” ways of thinking. And we really mean out the box.

Check out the process and let us know your thoughts! by @wearestrong.co

Progress matters…. Worked on a very powerful campaign for @riceuniversity to shed light on the equality on campus, and making sure everyone’s voice is heard.

Latest work. Check out and be inspired to keep moving forward in the right direction.

Thanks to everyone involved, and happy mothers day to all the beautiful moms around the globe by @wearestrong.co

When we set out to create this campaign, our team simply wanted to pay homage to our own mothers, and showcase the love of Mothers around the world. During our planning, we knew it would be special, but we had no idea on just how special this campaign would become.

After months of planning, research, strategizing and delivering, “A Mother’s Work” has touched the lives of everyone that has viewed it, and now it has been awarded with the highest honor at the @aaf.houston awards.

Thanks to every single person involved, especially the dope mothers that were featured. @edubalicioustreats @theschoolofsportsciences @shaymone

We share this award together forever, and this is just the beginning. Mothers keep changing the world, and we promise we will keep telling your stories! by @wearestrong.co

There are no words! Last year a goal was set right before my eyes and last night I watched it unfold. But with you I am not surprised because this is not the first time you’ve put something in motion and CRUSHED it!!

The word Congratulations isn’t big enough. I am so proud and overwhelmed with love for the space you have created and the creators you create with. Dope!…each and every one of you are just that!!

Dreaming, writing things down, and then executing ideas is the most inspiring thing we can do. And when we realize that anything that can we think, can come to life.

Check out our latest campaign “Collection of Possibilities” that we worked on with @shaymone as she introduces her new Studio Collection for @sweenshotsstudios . With so many possible pieces to choose from, each piece of this collection is designed to inspire the best in you.
