⋆.˚𖦹⋆✮⋆.˚ The Aziza embodied by @whimzweekly Shot by @_ceewayne Designed by @digidxyo Styled by @aitana.lei Production Assistant @felixikhsanov ⋆˚☆ ˖°⋆ ｡° ✮ ˖ ࣪ ⊹⋆ .˚ *ੈ ✩‧₊˚ ༺ ☆ ༻* ੈ ✩‧₊˚ ˙⋆✮⋆˚࿔. ͙͘͡★ The Aziza are figures in West African mythology, particularly in Dahomey traditions (modern-day Benin and Togo). Known as tiny forest spirits who dwell among anthills and silk-cotton trees, they guide hunters and travelers by sharing their magic in both spiritual and practical ways. Often portrayed as small, luminous beings, the Aziza are frequently compared to fireflies because of their glowing presence in the forest’s darkness. Deeply knowledgeable about medicinal herbs and plants, the Aziza are revered for their kindness and willingness to offer guidance, protection, and wisdom to humanity. They serve as wise forest guardians, ethereal messengers, and keepers of hidden knowledge, embodying the deep spiritual connection between humanity and nature. Honored to have been the main DJ and a designer for @afrofexp at the DuSable Museum, the first and oldest independent Black history museum in the country, during Chicago Fashion Week. It’s always such a beautiful experience to work with unapologetically proud Black artists and creatives. Huge thank you to @emekagoz , lead designer and owner of @myobioma for allowing me to be such an integral part of the show. I believe in reclaiming ancestral practices and belief systems as an act of resistance. My looks draw inspiration from deities and beliefs of indigenous African societies, particularly the Yorùbá of West Africa. There’s so much to gain from looking to the past and reimagining it in a modern context, which is a core component of my brand, Òjìji (@wearojiji ). Thank you to the incredibly talented models I was able to collaborate with for bringing these ideas to life. @ayeitziccy as Olókun, ruler of the ocean depths, its mysteries, and great wealth. @jjackie_e as Aziza, guardian of the forests, bestowing wisdom upon travelers in need. @haleykiaraa as Ọ̀ṣun, goddess of fresh water, love, beauty, fertility, and sensuality Pictures & Video: @archivalpractice & @off.track9 Runway Training & Creative Directors: @_thekatwalkglobal | @tearathemodel @wegobegreat.prod_agency | @wegobegreat by @wearojiji
