The ‚Kontor‘ recently moved into the building next door, which used to house Münstermann deli that closed in 2014. After the renovation and a wait of over 12 years, I was extremely curious to see what had been created.

Unfortunately, the unmistakable charm of this once-charming little spot has been lost. Where character, atmosphere, and a touch of nostalgia once reigned, the current interior seems unsure of its own identity.

The chairs, plush sofas, tables, and color scheme certainly don’t come together to form a cohesive whole, and they fail to convey either the charming patina of an old-fashioned or the sophistication of a contemporary brasserie concept.

Solid, but out of the 17 creations in total – some smaller, some larger - this is probably the only one that won’t really linger in my culinary memory for long

It seems as something or someone caught my attention, because I forgot to take any notes.

But I do remember that it was an exquisite light fish dish, despite its bold flavours.

Let me introduce you to NOUA, which is far more than a restaurant and a must-visit place when in Bucharest.

The cuisine is an edible love letter to Romania and its people and culture.

The terrific tasting menu, expertly crafted by an ambitious and passionate team, provides an exciting and emotional culinary trip through the country.

Start with a selection of amuse-bouches from different regions of Romania, served on wooden pieces that then fit together like a jigsaw puzzle to form the layout of the country.
