Westbourne’s hidden massage, tucked away on Seamoor Road. 🌿

@resonancesbyerica is Erika’s treatment room inside @theskincliniccompany at 17 Seamoor Road. She offers massage and facials, each one shaped around how you’re feeling on the day.

On the massage side, there’s relaxation, hot stone, lava shell and deep tissue massage. There’s also a shorter back, neck and shoulders session for when time is tight, and pregnancy massage. For skin, Erika offers her signature Japanese face lift, a medical-grade detox facial and a Phytomer anti-ageing facial.

You can see her full menu and book online through The Skin Clinic Company, or follow @resonancesbyerica for more.

When did you last book an hour just for you? 👀

Christmas is coming to @thelibertinebh4 in Westbourne, with festive parties and Christmas Day dining on Alumhurst Road 🎄

Festive parties sit down to three courses, from turkey or rump of beef to seabream or a nut roast. On Christmas Day the kitchen starts with scallops or venison carpaccio before a full roast with all the trimmings, and The Gallery Room can be booked for a smaller private party 🍽️

We’ve taken a closer look at both menus, the private spaces and what to expect from Christmas at The Libertine this year ✨

One of the best-known horror stories ever written came from a house in Westbourne 🕯️

Robert Louis Stevenson lived at Skerryvore on Alum Chine Road from April 1885 to August 1887, in a house his father bought as a wedding gift for his wife, Fanny. Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Kidnapped were both published in 1886, while he lived there 📖

The house was destroyed by bombing in 1940. Today the site is a small memorial garden with a stone model of the Skerryvore lighthouse, designed by his uncle, Alan Stevenson 🌲

Five kitchen designers around Bournemouth worth a showroom visit. 🍳

Start at @hallmarkkitchendesigns in Christchurch, where a free design consultation leads to either supply-only or a fully project-managed installation. At @kitchenhousebournemouth on Castle Lane West, the showroom has working appliances, sinks and taps to try.

In Westbourne, @harveyjoneskitchens on Poole Road specialises in hand-painted cabinetry and offers a complimentary first design appointment. @kitchenelegancepoole has been going since 1986, with nine display kitchens at its Ashley Cross showroom, and @paintedkitchenco on Bargates in Christchurch makes handmade painted in-frame kitchens.

We’ve taken a closer look at each designer, what they offer and what to bring to your first conversation.

A little craftsmanship, a lot of character, and a very special new arrival at Attico… 🐴✨

Cesca is talking us through our latest magnificent rocking horse, beautifully handcrafted by master craftsman Trevor Wiffen.

We’ve been lucky enough to welcome three of Trevor’s creations to Attico previously, all of which found their forever homes by Christmas. Each one is a true work of art, and this latest arrival is no exception.

But there’s one thing missing… a name! 🤍 We’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments below.

Next time you’re walking through Westbourne Arcade, be sure to stop by and admire this beautiful creation in our window.

And while you’re here, a special shoutout to one of our favourites, @mollyandharlequin , who are opening this weekend! We’re so excited to welcome them to the Arcade, so do pop in, say hello and show your support for another wonderful local business✨ by @westbournelifestyle

An autumn weekend in Bournemouth, from a hotel pool on the West Cliff to live jazz in town. 🍂

Check in at @thenici on the West Cliff, where the spa has an 18-metre heated indoor pool, a sauna and a steam room, or at @thegreenhouse.hotel, a 32-bedroom hotel with a focus on sustainability and seasonal menus at its Arbor restaurant.

Spend a morning browsing the independent shops in Westbourne’s Victorian arcade, and if the weather turns, @russellcotes is a seaside house full of art, with a café. Need a reset? @hengistburyheadoutdoors by Christchurch Harbour runs yoga, sound baths and watersports. Then finish the night at @sonnysspeakeasy, with cocktails and live jazz, swing and cabaret.

We’ve taken a closer look at where to stay, where to eat and what to expect from a weekend away in town.

Four Dorset specialists who can help you create a home cinema room. 🎬

Start at @stoneaudio in Poole, where the showroom lets you try hi-fi, home cinema and multi-room audio with film scenes you already know. In Westbourne, @dawsons_av designs bespoke cinemas and has a JBL Synthesis certified demonstration room in its showroom.

If you’d like one team to handle everything, @livinghometech designs, installs and maintains home cinemas across Dorset, right down to the cabinetry, while Poole-based @ampedelectrics takes projects from design through to installation and setup.

We’ve taken a closer look at each specialist, plus what to think about and what to bring to your first meeting.

Westbourne has a very good little comedy night hiding in plain sight 👀

Laugh at the Libertine brings proper stand-up into The Forge at @thelibertinebh4, with the kind of close-up atmosphere you just do not get in a big theatre. The last one had a packed room, great energy and some seriously good comedians, hosted by @archie_brettle.

And they’re doing it again. Thursday 12 November at 7pm, with tickets from £12.50 🎟️

If your idea of a good night out involves a drink, a small room and genuinely good stand-up, this one is worth booking.

Save this for November or send it to the person you’d take with you. by @westbournelifestyle
