Incredible detail shots of the sculptures in Adjacent Futures at Habatat, taken by @1000words_wa. Each close-up feels like a world of its own. Huge thank you to Mike for getting these cumbersome shots and putting up with my crazy requests. Adjacent Futures opens in less than a week. Go get tickets to the November 7th opening reception at www.habatat.com/events. @habatatgalleries_glassart #sculpture #stone #rock #minerals #glass #glassart by @westonlambert

Piece of the day alert! šŸšØ Hereā€™s a quick breakdown of what went into this little fella. Video inbound later today! 1. Cut glass discs on @wazercut 2. Load pot and pull glass cane. 3. Repeat 3x for 3 color layers. 4. Chop cane into murrini. 5. Kiln-fire murrini at 1500Ā°F. 6. Cool, cut glass and stone, laminate. 7. Carve and polish. 8. Photograph and share. 9. Ship it to you!! Good things take time. Itā€™s been said that if something doesnā€™t take forever and cost a fortune to make, I probably wouldnā€™t bother making it. There might be some truth to that. I invest myself deeply in my work because I care deeply about what I make. I hope that when you finally hold one of these pieces in your hands, the weight of it conveys a little of the time, thought, and care that went into it. by @westonlambert
Todayā€™s little slice of luck comes in the form of a jade pocket sculpture. Now up! by @westonlambert
Come to the opening this weekend, or snag a piece from the @habatatgalleries_glassart website!!! by @westonlambert
Lightfall has officially arrived in Royal Oak at @habatatgalleries_glassart. This was one of the early sculptures I finished for the show, and one of the first to ship out. Adjacent Futures opens on November 7 in Royal Oak, MI at Habatat. The reception starts at 6pmā€”reserve your tickets not at www.habatat.com/events Photos by Mike Abella / @1000words_wa #stone #jasper #glassart #artist #sculptor #yellow #michigan by @westonlambert
Find Stillness If you ever find yourself in Kanazawa, Japan, there is a place that demands you slow down, breathe, and just be. The D.T. Suzuki Museum is not a traditional museum filled with crowded display cases or hoards of peopleā€¦ Instead, it is a breathtaking minimalist sanctuary designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi to honor the man who introduced Zen philosophy to the West. Best partā€¦Water Mirror Gardenā€”a massive, shallow pool that reflects the sky and the trees. Sitting in the space, watching the ripples catch the light, you actually experience zen, even if itā€™s for a moment it. by @westonlambert
A small collection of (big) Moonrise Classics will also be on display at Habatat starting next weekend. This one, Moonrise #1, was a hundred pounds all together. The biggest of the bunch! For more info about Adjacent Futures, visit www.habatat.com/events @habatatgalleries_glassart. Come join us at the opening reception November 7. Day 6 | Japan Ishikawa Prefectural Library ēŸ³å·ēœŒē«‹å›³ę›øé¤Ø If you think libraries canā€™t take your breath away, wait until you step inside Ishikawa Prefectural Library in Kanazawa Japan. Iconic. Built around the concept of a ā€œPark-like Libraryā€ (Library in a Park) and a theatrical ā€œForest of Books.ā€ Rather than treating the space as a quiet, rigid book warehouse, the design transforms the library into an interactive, communal cultural arena. My mom @lindaleelambert was in pure heaven ā€œIā€™m in one of my happy places also glad to move on whenever you are.ā€ by @westonlambert
Happy Halloween, everyone! Hope you all have a safe and fun holiday: carve up some pumpkins, watch a scary movie, and stuff your face with sweets. Enjoy a spooky collection of sculptures before you put on your costume today. #halloween #stones #rock #glass #art by @westonlambert
Aqua Regia, 2026. Rhodochrosite and laminated glass. Its title was chosen for the Latin word meaing "royal water"ā€”only fitting for an incredible slab of rhodochrosite. Adjacent Futures opens next Saturday! Visit www.habatat.com/events to learn more info and reserve tickets. A quick break from our regularly scheduled Habatat programming... Today's collection will be available at 12pm PST. It's a small drop since I've been out of town, but they're still fresh and flashy pieces. What's everyone doing for Halloween tomorrow?! by @westonlambert
