I heard about the Meet the Makers event through @irisbackayardsauces. I first tried Iris rum cake at the Butter Tart Festival a few month back, and I’ve been dreaming about it ever since. Since I’ll be in Campbellford and miss this coming Saturday’s events, I stopped by yesterday to get some more—and it was just as delicious as I remembered.

There was so much else to enjoy, too. @what.thefizz ’s apple ginger kombucha was bright and delicious. @yoursavinggraze ’s charcuterie wreath was a beautiful, inspiring centrepiece. @Ma_d_peppersauce was perfect, and I can’t wait to try it on shrimp. Nizo’s Bites (@nizosbites) were delicious without being too sweet, and @mollycake had a delicious treat on offer as well. Such a lovely afternoon meeting the makers, tasting their work and finding new local favourites.

Save the date: Sunday, November 1, 1–4 pm.

For one afternoon, the doors to our shared kitchen open to you. Come meet 10+ of the local makers who bake, simmer and create here every week. There will be bakers, savoury makers and one very good dog treat company.

Free samples, a passport to fill, and 2 King Road Kitchen prize packs up for grabs. RSVP link drops later this week.

P.S. Clocks fall back that morning, so you’ve got an extra hour. 😉

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made our Dermaesthetics & Wellness event so special. To Praveshni, thank you for the idea and months of planning.

Thank you to 📸 Christine for capturing every special moment, Linh @dashofgourmet for the beautiful food, Nazila from Bretonne Bakery for the stunning desserts, Rochelle PrettyLittleFlower for our delicious custom made cookies, Parul for the delicious kombucha, and Chanel for the gorgeous flowers and for taking care of a thousand details behind the scenes.
