Meet Sarah! She’s from Ghana, and got her MA in Sociology. She says she’s basically a math enthusiast disguised as a sociologist! She loved the football season and the tailgating. Come see us again soon, football season is full on swing! 🏈🏟️ by @whatjiwonsees

BME program brought her from Mexico and 4 years later she’s an Ole Miss grad! We’re so proud ✨ by @whatjiwonsees
Sweetest family I got to take pictures of! A true SEC graduates between Ole Miss and Texas! Mom and dad both graduated with their Ph.Ds this spring and had to celebrate together as a family! It almost reminded me when I was little as they were taking photos together. Best of luck in all of your next steps in life! ✨ by @whatjiwonsees
So much fun with the engineering king, Haneef! When I say he knew everyone walking around, he knew everyone! The most fun session with lots of ideas and stories I’ll remember for a long time! by @whatjiwonsees
Meet Astrid! Astrid is from England, and graduated with her MA in Southern Studies! She came to Oxford for her program, and is a huge foodie, hoping she’ll work in the food critic industry in the future. I made some horrible attempts of speaking like they do in Pride and Prejudice— all jokes aside, she loved Oxford and her time here with her friends. Come back and visit us! by @whatjiwonsees
In 2000, my dad earned his Ph.D. I still remember that day so clearly. It was a hot, humid May afternoon in Oxford, Mississippi, and as a four-year-old, I ran through the graduation tents searching for my parents, excited to celebrate my hero—my dad. More than two decades later, I’m pursuing my own Ph.D., and this photo reminds me that no degree is earned alone. Behind every graduate is a network of people who sacrificed, encouraged, believed, and loved them through the journey. As an international student, I’ve come to appreciate these stories even more. Some students have family members cheering them on from the audience. Others carry support across oceans, time zones, and phone calls. Every journey looks different, but each one is filled with resilience, hope, and community. That’s why I’m excited to introduce Humans of Ole Miss Internationals —a photography and storytelling project dedicated to highlighting the lives, experiences, and journeys of international students on our campus. After seeing a grad student propping up their phone in an open backpack on a self timer, I wanted to open an opportunity for our international students for a complimentary graduate portrait. Through portraits and conversations, I hope to share the stories behind the faces: where they come from, what brought them here, what challenges they’ve overcome, and what dreams they’re pursuing. Because every student has a story worth telling, and every story helps us see the world a little differently. Introducing Humans of Ole Miss Internationals, follow along as I share some of the coolest stories. 🌎🫶🏼 @olemissinternational by @whatjiwonsees

Started the day taking grad photos for a friend and somehow ended up meeting + photographing four of the sweetest, most beautiful graduates 🫶🏼✨ One of my favorite things about graduation season is stumbling into moments like this — new faces, big smiles, and so much joy all in one place. One never graduates from Ole Miss 🫶🏼🎓 by @whatjiwonsees
