FRIDAY CROWN JEWELS Every Friday, we are going to deep dive into the tracks that make We Will Rock You one of the most electrifying musicals of all time. Join us in the GOLD STATE COACH for a trot around the Queen’s Catalogue! I Want It All – Queen “I Want It All” is a powerful rock anthem by British rock band Queen, released in 1989 as the lead single from their album The Miracle. Written by guitarist Brian May, the song showcases Queen’s trademark combination of driving guitar riffs, soaring vocals and an unapologetically ambitious message. Featuring Freddie Mercury’s commanding lead vocals, the song is built around a muscular rock arrangement, with Brian May’s distinctive guitar work and the band’s layered harmonies adding to its intensity. Its lyrics express a determination to seize life’s opportunities, pursue personal ambitions and refuse to settle for less than what one believes is possible. The song also reflects the social climate of the late 1980s, with themes of individualism, ambition and empowerment. Its anthemic chorus gives it an immediate sense of defiance and celebration, making it a natural fit for live performance. Within Queen’s catalogue, “I Want It All” stands as one of the band’s great arena-rock statements. Its driving rhythm, powerful vocal delivery and explosive chorus make it an enduring favourite with audiences and a fitting example of Queen’s ability to combine theatrical flair with hard-rock energy. Linked here is the extended Album mix. This song is performed by Brit and Oz/Meat in the show and the audience is encouraged to sing-a-long and clap their hands!
