Your energy matches with mine
Even our values are aligned
My soul sees itself in you
I hope you feel it too

I wanted to write about the physical sensation of trauma. I had so much therapy that on a behavioral level I can fully control myself. I don’t constantly seek for reassurance anymore because I understand that my anxious thoughts don’t reflect my loved ones‘ intentions just because they aren’t available all the time. But knowing all that changes nothing about my physical reactions because the body remembers what it went through.

—————————————————
Behavioral wise, I am in control
Stopped the self-sabotage
Can suppress the need to double text
Don‘t even share my doubts
I stopped dragging innocent people
Into my misery
But my body
Never lets me forget the pain
My nervous system screeches danger
Whenever they aren’t available
My mind understands the mechanics
Where all this is coming from
Knows, as adults we aren‘t helpless
But my anxiety only has eyes for the
8-year old child
Crying alone in an empty apartment
The TV the only companion
Not knowing the difference between
Temporary loss and death
Because it all feels the same
Not having any concept of time
Therefore, not grasping when the
Pain‘s going to end
And then, when it does
Being shamed for it
How do I explain my nervous system
That war is over

Does the beauty of life not lie in the hurting, the healing and the loving? 🪴

When did you know you were healing? ☀️

When I was a Teenager I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I couldn‘t grasp the concept of being depressed, could never associate that with me, gaslit myself all the time. Everything I went through couldn’t have been that bad. Other people have it worse. It wasn‘t until my early twenties that I could finally add 1+1 together. But even then, it took another few years to actually search for professional help. 🖤

A dear friend said this to me and I had the biggest smile on my face 💛

I‘m sorry if you ever felt like you weren‘t enough 🫂

I don’t always feel this way, it’s rather new to me but I‘m trying to embrace this powerful feeling 🫂 constantly needing reassurance and control of your surroundings is quite tiring, right? 🌷

I love writing love poems 💜 but they‘re never about a romantic partner 😂 for me anyway - who did you think of when reading this? 🥰

I get so easily used to seeing my loved ones. I just hate going back to normal.
