Day 3
Sea day! Left Coco Cay and on our way to Cozumel, Mexico. Started the day with another amazing meal at the huge buffet and we all went to the pool. Lots of swimming, reading, and FREE(ish) drinking - we got the drink package early for a cheaper price, which gave us unlimited drinks, so we got our moneys worth out of Red Bulls alone.
Erin and I signed up for a dodgeball tournament and four random people joined our team. We got second place in the whole tournament! I got 6 people out in 3 games and Erin was the best ball assistant in the universe. Emma filmed our first game where a ball immediately hits her phone.
On our way back to the room, I met a couple from the Marquee theater cabaret. They had actually met on the ship and were very cute together. They said they both joined 8 months ago and had recently hit 100 shows on the ship! Parents were standing with them and as I walked away, the mom said “Oh my god, you’re famous!!”
Erin, Emma, and I go to the casino. We had tried slots already, I was excited to try blackjack. I had a super long winning streak but it did not last.
Late night, we all go to a Perfect Couple game show being put on. Erin and I almost got picked for our group. We had to dance together to the Dirty Dancing song, so of course I picked Erin up and spun around. She tried to do the same for me (which she usually can!) but we fell lol
Later, Erin and I read together watching the waves and this is very very important she would be upset if I didn’t include this: decided Erin is the ocean, I’m the moon, she’s the sun, and I’m plants.

Day 4
Cozumel! I’m the first to be ready so I head out to explore. We got info from our blackjack dealer to not waste time near the port, take a cheap taxi elsewhere. I took my camera to document the tourist trap hell while waiting. Everyone yelling “Free tequila!” which was not. I got more unique calls with my look. “Cheech & Chong! Heyy, Shaggy! I know what you need! Scooby Snacks in the dispenseria!” I explored a decent chunk and found a small Mayan temple.
I went back, got Erin, and rented a moped. Rode all over the island!
Instagram doesn’t give me enough characters to explain the rest :( by @whimsicarson

This is just the first two days with lots not pictured!
Day 1:
Fly from Richmond to Miami. Board the ship (Freedom of the Seas), eat an amazing lunch, start exploring. Go for a swim, watch the ship leave port, and get absolutely terrified by the ship’s horn directly behind us. Stop by the casino, lose some money on slots but still won a bit. Eat a super duper fancy dinner with a beautiful view of the water right next to us. Head to the ice skating show which was absolutely phenomenal. Then we went and watched a comedian, then found karaoke (too late to join) and watched some amazing performances. Late late now but there’s a free pizza place open until 3, Erin and I kept exploring the ship until we crashed.
Day 2:
Wake up with the ship at Coco Cay. Beautiful resort island with wild chickens, iguanas, peacocks, sting rays. We could walk so far out into the water on a sand bar. While I’m sitting in our chairs, Erin is trying to find an iguana I had seen earlier. I overhear the couple next to me, the woman is complaining that there’s no shells here, she really wanted to go shell hunting. Two seconds later Erin yells my name and holds up the biggest conch shell ever. Erin brings it over and I can feel the seething jealousy from the lady next to us. She says “I’m from Florida and people spend their whole lives looking for something like that, so congrats.”
We are worried they might not let us bring it back on the boat but I carry it in and put it in its own x-ray bowl and they said nothing!!
We get back, go read by the pool until dinner, and then go to their “Marquee” show. Huge highlight. Insane talent from all of the actors, singers, dancers. I sobbed during their Cabaret performance and I met some of the performers a couple days later and when I said that, they said “Oh, we saw you!”
This night, we are READY for karaoke. Showed up an hour early to sign up. They never had my songs, I ended up doing All Star by Smash Mouth and Erin did Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani. First of our many performances that we ended up getting recognized for all over the ship. Erin went to bed and I explored more of the ship.
