Today is the day! I’m at the @maineartsfest with @allison.mckeen, booth #83. @smithingmaria made some beautiful leather hangers to accompany my work. Find us in downtown Norway today only, from 10-4pm. by @whitneymgill
Oh heckkk the Norway Maine Arts Festival is this SATURDAY! Smoliver is not ready, but luckily, I'm feeling pretty good about things. There are a lot of great happenings at the festival, I'll be splitting a booth with Allison McKeen, Lady Lamb will be playing, and a bunch of really great collabs are happening between many Maine orgs and artists to make this fun event happen. Find us in downtown Norway on September 12, 2026. Follow @maineartsfest for more details or visit maineartsfestival.org! by @whitneymgill
Thank you to all who came to @hihocraftshow, and thank you to Allison McKeen and Matt Demers for hosting us. I had a lovely time and caught up with so many friends, made some new friends, and afterward I ate a bunch of chocolate and passed out on the couch with a new book. 10/10 great day. Many of these pots found loving new homes, and those that didn't are making the journey to Maine Potters Market (@mainepottersmarket) this week. My next event is the @maineartsfest on September 12 in downtown Norway, where I'll be sharing a booth with @allison.mckeen. Save the date! by @whitneymgill

hiho artist preview • @whitneymgill Whitney Gill is a potter whose practice merges expressive surface work with functional form. She creates wheel-thrown and hand-altered clay vessels that function as both utilitarian objects and visual compositions. Her surface treatment is gestural and painterly, marked by intuitive brushwork, resist techniques, and a fluid language of abstract mark-making influenced by aposematism, calligraphy, and textiles. Whitney proudly serves as executive director of the Maine Crafts Association, and maintains a ceramics studio in Bowdoin, Maine. by @whitneymgill
The Days of Salad are upon us 🥗 Next Saturday, July 11, my pots and I will be at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle, ME for the 31st annual Salad Days, one of my favorite summer events! A Plate Ticket gets you endless glorious salad served upon a handmade plate by the 2026 Salad Days artist, Torie Crouse. Or, just buy a lunch ticket and peruse the Watershed grounds & sale tent featuring 30-ish clay artists, myself included. Stop by the stein tent to get yourself a crisp beverage in a handmade mug. It's a lovely event on a beautiful campus that supports an organization that is near and dear to me. Hope to see you there! Learn more & buy tickets here: https://www.watershedceramics.org/events/2026-salad-days ----- Where: Watershed Commons 19 Brick Hill Road Newcastle, ME 04553 When: July 11, 2026 11:00 am – 2:00 pm by @whitneymgill
