It’s coming together 😭 going to start hosting monthly photoshoot challenges. It’ll be a Baltimore’s Next Top Model type of thing (and no, you don’t actually have to be a model). Maybe I’ll put you in a box.. maybe I’ll put a snake in your hand.. whatever it is, I’ll need you to strike your best pose 👀

Let me know if you’re interested 😝

Don’t Touch My Hair X @cecred Nourishing Hair Oil 🪴

My locs walked me into rooms before I ever saw the doors. Told others how to approach me before I ever had the chance to speak. Connected me to my roots before I knew its’ importance. And shielded me from enemies in my stages of naivety.

Planted in the soil of my locs are the seeds of my own spirituality, showing me what power I have when I water my soul.

So please.. don’t touch my hair.

The wellness escape I needed. My birthday in Switzerland was magical. It showed me a limitless mind and unlocked another level of creativity. Is it ok if I let the photos speak for themselves? by @whoisvonnie_

I know.. this isn’t something I’d typically post. I guess I’m feeling deeply today. Realizing my art lately seems to erase imperfections and it’s far from a reflection of my core.

I just wanted to capture me this morning.. I wanted to show vulnerability.. femininity.. the truth is that my art has been a reflection of my controlling ways.. edits over already perfect pictures.. I’ve been trying to control outcomes.. my relationships.. how I appear to the world.. I’m just a woman trying to figure it out.

I wake up looking a mess most days. I don’t have it all figured out. My locs in this photo are reflecting my inner world these days. When I focus too much on getting a bag, I seem to neglect my spirit.. God has been calling me to become for a long time now and I lost track of this. I forgot to slow down.. to meditate.. to seek therapy and regulate my emotions.

I walk with my Bible daily, but I haven’t always lived by it. I haven’t had the level of faith I read about in the Bible. I want to be a woman who can let go.. I want to flow like water.. it’s hard most days. Sometimes trauma gets the best of me and all that wants to appear is fire. The truth is that I’m soft at my core and I’m learning how to get back to it daily.

I guess this is for the women trying to keep it all together in such a demanding world.. your beauty lies within your imperfections. You are enough. Have patience with yourself.. lay there today.. rest.. let the world adjust to you ❤️ by @whoisvonnie_
