People always ask me why I don’t spend my life chasing museums, institutions, or the approval of the art establishment.

Because I learned genetically

As an African art consultant, I have watched African artists, Black galleries, and Black professionals work ten time as hard just to get half the opportunity.

Too often, the gatekeepers speak about diversity, inclusion, and culture, but the reality can feel very different.
Access is controlled by a small circle of people who decide whose work deserves to be seen, whose voice deserves to be heard, and whose career deserves to exist.
And even worse, they don’t tell you is that many doors were never built for you to walk through.
Some institutions talk about diversity, inclusion, and representation. But too often, they still expect you to ask for permission before your work deserves to be seen.

That is why I don’t chase validation.

I don’t need permission to believe in an artist.

I don’t need an institution to tell me what is good before I can believe it.

My mission has never been to collect approval. My mission has always been to help artists make a living from their work, pay their rent, feed their families, and continue creating.

History has taught us something important.

Great work can be delayed, but it cannot be hidden forever.

Time is the greatest curator.

If the work is honest, original, and necessary, it will eventually find its place whether the gatekeepers approve of it or not.

That is why I continue to support emerging voices.

Not because they have already been validated, but because I believe their work and voice also exist.

Everything else, I leave to time.

It adds scale, movement, emotion, and elegance without overwhelming the room.
It allows the architecture, furniture, and light to breathe together.

When in doubt, go bigger.
Large scale abstract art almost always elevates an interior.

Yesterday afternoon, I stopped by Galerie Max Hetzler @galeriemaxhetzler to visit the solo exhibition of @KonradKlapheck

I have to say, I was absolutely blown away by the scale of the paintings.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you already know how much I love large-scale artworks. They have a presence that small paintings simply cannot replace. A large painting doesn’t just decorate a room—it transforms it. It brings elegance, confidence, and a sense of luxury to a home.

People often think you need many #artworks to create an impressive interior. I always say the opposite. One exceptional large #painting can have more impact than ten small ones.

Konrad Klapheck’s monumental machine paintings are a perfect reminder of that. They command the space while remaining incredibly refined.

If you’re in Berlin, this #exhibition is definitely worth visiting.

Sometimes, all it takes is one great painting to change the way you see a room.

I always encourage my friends and family to invest in art.

The reason is simple: by investing in art, we support a cultural movement that will help define the ideas of our time. Those ideas shape how future generations think, how children see the world, and how families imagine the future.

Hello art lover
I became an art consultant because I wanted to create something that puts artists first.
My goal is to help as many artists as possible build sustainable careers.
For me, supporting an artist means helping them sell their work so they can pay their rent, cover their bills, and continue making art ( invest on the people )

That’s why my focus is on placing artworks into collections.
Every time a work finds a home , an artist has the opportunity to keep creating , dreaming and just do what the believe and leave from that

Of course, I do have a lot of respect for galleries.
They play an important role in the art world, and many do incredible work.

My priorities are simply different.

If I had to choose between paying €3,000 a month for a space or using that same money to buy works from artists and support their practice, I would choose the artists every time.

I’m more interested in investing in people than in walls.

I want to build an ecosystem where artists can make a living from their work.
That’s what drives me every day.

Good morning art lovers

I am Marios, a Berlin and Cape Town based art consultant.

The year 2026 started with some incredible discoveries, especially from emerging artists.

As many of you already know, I always advocate for the young artists of my time.

The reason is simple.

Every legacy starts somewhere.
Every history starts with someone, a subject, a vision and a first person who believed.

A morning at Esther Schipper Gallery.

This morning, I stopped by Esther Schipper to visit Forking Paths, a group exhibition bringing together works by Chiu Chien-Jen, Roberto De Pinto, Hsu Chia-Wei, Beatrice Marchi, Valerio Nicolai, Federico Tosi, Tsai Yi-Ting, and Tseng Chien-Ying. @chenhungchiu @roberto_depinto @broooooooooooooook @larrynicolai @deferedefe

I found the exhibition both #engaging and refreshing. What also surprised me was that many of the works are offered at very accessible prices, making it a wonderful opportunity for #collectors looking to discover emerging and established voices.

What I appreciate most about visiting Esther Schipper is the way the #gallery approaches curation. There is a real sense of refinement in how each exhibition is presented. The team doesn’t simply display #artworks they create an experience.
Every room feels carefully considered, visually elegant, and open to #experimentation.

It is a place where contemporary art can be experienced with curiosity, clarity, and pleasure.

I fell in love with Rusudan’s work the first time I encountered it, and I am still in love with it today. Her paintings possess a rare emotional depth and an extraordinary visual language that continues to move me every time I see them.
