It is actually a double, but so hard to catch on camera. A bright lil color spot in all the rain and grey. Thanks, Earth and Sun, for rainbows 🌈 by @wildbeeherbals

At the shop a few months back with my newest lil guy. It's been a full few years -- this lil guy came 2.5 years after his sister, all full of surprise. I was manager @farmacopia and then -- I was gonna have another baby - not what I expected! To say the least, however, I couldn't be more delighted that he's here, and that I get to incorporate him into our beautiful, if complicated, world. He and I were working at the shop together for a few months. Now, he's a lil too active to keep on my tummy/back while trying to work. Sooo, another new chapter!

Motherhood has offered it's challenges, and in doing so, also allowed for new opportunities. As the Spring gears up here on the West Coast, I do as well -- with visions and plans of herbal gardens, classes, and consults, supporting those within this similar walk I dance - the Childbearing Continuum - the time of pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood.
...
Stay tuned for more as I unveil my refreshed vision, and dive into a new layer of herbal practice.

Hello out there! It's early spring or late winter here depending on perspective. Life has been so full this past year and a half, with mothering and all life throws at us. I'm popping back in as I begin to revamp this account and engage with all you lovely people.
..
Curious to hear, what might you like to see from me this year?

Hope your new year is filled with new beginnings that feel exciting! by @wildbeeherbals

Ginkgo must be one of the most splendid Autumn trees. And many say this yellow is when it is most medicinal. Though there is some debate, some also declare the time when leaves are turning from green to yellow the most potently medicinal. I am always delighted to walk down a neighborhood street to find the Ginkgos in this transition. Also, once their leaves begin to shift, they loose them quickly, I have even heard it said they loose them all at once. Which is why they are used in landscapes.
...
...
Walking past them yesterday in the beautiful November Sun + Breeze, I actually caught a few whiffs of the leaves. A potent "green" smell, if you know it it is very distinct. In my early times as an aspiring herbalist (as my years of study began) I would visit the bulk herb section at my local co-op, bringing home several herbs to make tea from and interact with. I distinctly remember Ginkgo, strong, bitter, earthy with an elegance of uplifting the mind and heart.

It's #swarmseason again, and so full-on!! We've already had like 8 swarms at our place this year, and I've heard of many more around the county.
Also, our newest lil beekeeper is trying on the veil for size. 🐝

Yesterday I was so excited to finally harvest a big basket of #skullcap #scutellarialateriflora , enough to make about a quart of tincture. I certainly lena heavy on this herbal ally, for stress, anxious moments, and promoting tranquility. In full bloom it is harvested, so delicate snd sweet.

...
Garbling, or sorting the useful portions of the plant from the stems etc, always takes me way longer than I think it's going to. I spent like 2 hours with it last night, prepping for the actual tincture making. Every moment a joy, and so worth it. I will let the tincture macerate for 2 weeks to a month, press/strain it, then enjoy the sweeping peace it offers me.
