That pattern isn’t paint. It’s a marble trout from Piedmont, Italy, and you won’t find it just anywhere.

Salmo marmoratus only lives in the Po basin and a handful of northern rivers. It likes cold, fast water, and you’ll need to read the river well to get close to one.

That’s where Davide Ruffino comes in. He guides on these rivers in Val Pellice and Val Chisone, spinning or fly, and he knows where the fish hold as the water changes through the season.

If you’ve been looking for trout fishing in Italy with a real local fishing guide, his experience is on Wildoora. Link in bio and save the post for your next fishing trip in Italy.

🇮🇹

She had heard you coming long before the setter went on point. 🪶
The woodcock trusts its camouflage. It stays motionless among the leaves and branches, just a few metres from the dog, and waits. Then, a sudden burst of wings. A second later, it has already vanished among the birch trees.
The thrill. Your heart races as you find your dog frozen on point.
The pride in your dog’s work, whatever happens when the bird takes flight.
These are the emotions that make you head out into the woods. On Wildoora, you’ll find woodcock hunting trips with pointing dogs, led by guides and tour operators who know these forests inside out.
Choose your destination and book your next hunting trip.
