Some rooms ask you to pause. This one rewards you for looking closer. Carved wooden panels give the walls their rhythm; the wallpaper above draws you into another world. Little brass lamps, with pleated shades and curling arms, glow like jewellery against the white. Behind the bed, beading becomes architecture—tracing panels, shaping curves, framing a mirror in a circle of pearls. Below, the headboard’s soft curves are sharpened by black. Then your eyes lift. The panelled ceiling holds the final detail. Throwback to this shoot for @tw10architects a couple of years back. Excellent use of materiality throughout this townhouse extension with warm tones in the brick and herringbone floor complementing the minimal cast iron glasswork of the rear facade. by @willlockyear.photo
Had the pleasure of shooting this stunning red kitchen space for @jetsammade . The painted I-beams and blue check floor are master strokes alongside her ply units and those metal counter tops 👌🏼 by @willlockyear.photo
Some newer homes can be surprisingly challenging to work with. They often have unusual layouts that haven’t been fully thought through, and kitchens that are perfectly “fine” but lack functionality, character and personality. This compact kitchen was particularly tricky one. It was completely closed off from the main living space, so our first suggestion was simple but transformative: remove the stud wall to create a much more open connected feel. From there, we wrapped the new kitchen around the perimeter of the room, finishing with a distinctive peninsula in an olive green that contrasts with the mustard of the main kitchen cabinets. The peninsula helps define the kitchen without separating it from the living space, while the soft power pink floor tiles subtly zone the area and complement the green. 🐍 The result is a kitchen that’s compact, highly functional, and full of personality - just like our loverly client. We had the pleasure of collaborating closely with interior designer Leo from @leokinderdesign having another creative mind involved brought fresh ideas and made the design process even more rewarding. @jetsammade ‘s gorgeous olive units are the perfect partner to @leokinderdesign ‘s playful and architectural treatment of this Dalston flat. A big chunk of wall was removed and now the dusky purple floor plays with the vaulted skylight above. Killer stuff. Great collab. by @willlockyear.photo
