MOMMY? MOMMY, WHERE ARE YOU? We’ve looked in the nursery. We’ve looked beneath the beds. We’ve even called for her from the top of the stairs. But Mommy never answers anymore. Sometimes we hear footsteps. Sometimes we see shadows. We run to meet them, but it’s never her. They say there will be visitors at the Bembridge House this weekend. Perhaps one of them will know where our mommy has gone. Will you help us find her? We promise we’ll be good this time. 🧸👻 Whisper in the Walls — The Bembridge House 🎟️ thebembridgehouse.org Photo by @jennifer_nicole_57 #WhisperInTheWalls #BembridgeHouse #HauntedLongBeach #LongBeachHeritage by @willmorecity

A HUGE thank you to @freebirdslbc for being such an incredible part of our Back-to-School Event! Their amazing team generously gave their time and talent to provide free haircuts for local kids, helping them head into the new school year feeling confident, excited, and ready for a fresh start. Back-to-school expenses add up quickly, and something as simple as a fresh haircut can make a meaningful difference for both children and their families. We are incredibly grateful to Freebirds Salon for showing up for our kids and investing in our community. Thank you for helping make this day so special! Back to School in Willmore! What an incredible evening of community, generosity, and coming together for our kids. This year, 200 children walked away ready to start the school year with: 🎒 Backpacks filled with school supplies 💧 Insulated water bottles 📚 Brand-new books 👟 Brand-new shoes But this event was about so much more than the giveaways. Eight amazing organizations joined us to connect families with valuable community resources. Freebird’s Salon provided free haircuts for children, Handel’s kept everyone cool with delicious ice cream, wonderful local baker, Pin-up Kitchen made Rice Krispie treats for our families, and DJ Marlon X brought the energy with live music throughout the evening. Were there moments of struggle? Absolutely. Large community events aren’t always easy. But it’s important to remember why we do this. The purpose has always been to make sure children in our community can walk into the first day of school feeling prepared, confident, and excited — while helping ease some of the financial burden that back-to-school season can place on families. And 200 kids left with what they needed to do exactly that. While our Back to School event may look a little different in the future, we are incredibly thankful we were able to make this year’s event happen. And finally, a HUGE thank you to the 58 incredible people who showed up to volunteer, partner, donate their time, and support our families. An event like this simply does not happen without people willing to step up for their community. 200 kids. 58 people making it happen. One community showing up for each other. Thank you, Willmore. Here’s to a wonderful school year! ✨ by @willmorecity
