Shooting on 16mm felt like the perfect way to capture the nostalgic sense of leisure and humor that Vacation does so well as a brand. Working with Daj as our DP was a dream come true. Her deep knowledge of the format and calm precision on set made the entire process feel both grounded and creatively expansive. It was a collaboration that really elevated the work. In a time where AI-generated content has become increasingly pervasive, it’s beyond gratifying to imagine and create an absurd visual world through real collaboration and a physical process. Shooting on film played a central role in that intention. Nothing beats the real thing.” – @willpruitt, Director “When Will approached me to shoot this incredibly funny and absurd sunscreen ad, I knew that it would only make sense to shoot it on film. All of Vacation’s branding is beautifully reminiscent of vintage advertisements from the 70s and 80s, and we wanted this project to fit within that world. I find that today’s 16mm film stocks paired with modern scanning capabilities actually sometimes emulates vintage by @kodak_shootfilm

𝙁𝙎 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙚 / Stiff STIFF is an avant-garde, genre-bending short about an ancient, withered man who wakes from years of stillness, struggling to reclaim his lost vitality.
