More wealth often creates more choices, but not necessarily easier decisions.

In my recent blog post, “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 $𝟐 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧,” I share my take on the questions that become more important as your financial life grows more complex—and why coordination starts to matter more than ever: https://ow.ly/TSVC50ZUHZR

Yesterday, the Winstone Wealth Partners team showed up in full force for the Katherine Ferruzzo 2026 Houston Buddy Walk® at Shell Energy Stadium!

It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating individuals with Down syndrome and their families, supporting the Down Syndrome Association of Houston (DSAH), and coming together as a community for a cause close to our hearts.

This year's walk was especially meaningful as it honored the life and legacy of Katherine Ferruzzo, whose passion for helping children with special needs continues to make an impact through the Katherine Ferruzzo Legacy Foundation. The Ferruzzo family holds a very special place in our Winstone family, and we were honored to walk alongside them in Katherine's memory.

Thank you to DSAH, the Ferruzzo family, and everyone who helped make yesterday such a special celebration. We were grateful to be part of it! 💙💛

At a certain level of wealth, the financial questions start to change.

Read my recent blog post, “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 $𝟐 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧,” to hear my take on why the conversation often shifts from “What should I invest in?” to bigger questions about spending, risk, taxes, giving and what you ultimately want your wealth to accomplish: https://ow.ly/c8O450ZUHY9

A belated happy birthday to Clark Henry, who celebrated on Sunday!

Clark has fit in so seamlessly at Winstone that it’s hard to believe he hasn’t been here for years. His calm, confident demeanor makes him a steady presence for both clients and teammates, while his dry sarcasm keeps everyone on their toes.

He’s thoughtful, dependable and remarkably good at making complicated conversations feel simple and manageable. His Wordle performance during team competitions, however, remains an ongoing area of development...

We’re very grateful for everything Clark brings to the team. Happy Birthday!

Honored to be named a 2026 Houston Business Journal Woman Who Means Business.

It was incredibly humbling to be in a room with so many accomplished women from across Houston, and I’m very grateful to be counted among them.

Please Note: Lauren Smith of Winstone Wealth Partners, a team that provides advisory services through Concurrent Investment Advisors, LLC, was named as a 2026 Woman Who Means Business by the Houston Business Journal on 8/10/26 for the period of August 2026 to August 2027. Neither the recognized advisor, Winstone Wealth Partners, nor Concurrent paid compensation to the Houston Business Journal or its affiliates in exchange for, or in connection with, being considered for or receiving this recognition, or for award-related products and services, including licensing rights and promotional materials. Please join us in wishing a very happy birthday to Dylan Daggett!

Dylan brings so much to Winstone — a sharp analytical mind, a gift for simplifying the complex and a genuine commitment to doing what’s best for our clients.

He’s also grown into such a leader and mentor on our team, and someone we all count on to jump in, solve a problem or offer a thoughtful perspective when it’s needed.

And, of course, no Dylan birthday post would be complete without acknowledging some of the intangibles he brings to the team: serving as our (reluctant) Monday Morning DJ, bringing a highly competitive spirit to everything from cornhole to Wordle, and keeping us laughing along the way.

We’re incredibly grateful to have you on this team, Dylan. Happy birthday!

What changes financially when life changes?

Retirement, an inheritance or a career move can affect far more than one piece of your financial picture. Read my recent blog post, “𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝗪𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧,” to hear my take on the decisions worth considering before—and during—a major transition: https://ow.ly/cfRI50ZUHBl

We had a sweet surprise at the office recently — in more ways than one 🥧

Former Winstone team member Alaina Weber stopped by to catch up and brought the whole team pie (one of our guilty pleasures around here!).

We loved hearing how well she and her family are doing. One of our favorite things about this team is that the relationships don’t end when someone moves on. Once you’re part of the Winstone family, you’re always part of the Winstone family.

So good to see you, Alaina! Come back any time… and don’t forget the pie.

A major financial decision rarely affects just one part of your financial life.

In my recent blog post, “𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝗪𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧,” I share my take on how to think through the financial ripple effects of retirement, an inheritance, a career change and other major transitions: https://ow.ly/Jo8o50ZUFTW

Family. Adventure. Generosity. Independence. Service. Growth.

Your retirement values are personal—and your financial plan should be, too. In “𝐃𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬?” I share why identifying what matters most can change the way we think about planning for retirement.

A very well-deserved congratulations to our own Lauren Smith on being named one of the Houston Business Journal’s 2026 Women Who Mean Business!

If you know Lauren, you know she’s not someone who seeks the spotlight—which is part of what makes this recognition so meaningful.

Lauren is truly the glue that holds so much together around here. She works tirelessly behind the scenes, anticipates what our team and clients need before they ask, and somehow manages to keep a hundred moving pieces moving in the right direction. And we know from years of client relationships that our clients feel the same way about her that we do.

The Houston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Awards recognize women whose leadership, professional accomplishments and contributions are making an impact across Houston. We can’t think of anyone more deserving of a place among this year’s honorees.

Congratulations, Lauren! We’re incredibly proud of you—and very lucky to have you on our team.
