POSTS STORIES REELS

Three disciplines. Three podium finishes. One remarkable achievement. In WND&WVS team paddler Tamas Buday was one of just six paddlers among more than 900 competitors to earn medals across all three disciplines. That’s an extraordinary testament to his speed, technical skill, endurance, and dedication to the sport.

But if you know Tamas, you know that what makes him special goes far beyond the medals. All season long, Tamas makes his way to Burlington, Vermont, sharing his knowledge, experience, and passion for SUP racing with our local paddling community. He challenges our paddlers to get stronger, helps them find confidence on the water, and inspires them to push beyond what they thought possible. He brings the kind of experience you can’t teach from a book, along with an enthusiasm for the sport that is absolutely contagious.

And that’s what makes us especially proud. Tamas is an incredible ambassador for WND&WVS, but just as importantly, he’s an ambassador for a life spent on the water. He represents everything we love about paddlesports: the pursuit of excellence, the willingness to keep learning, the joy of being outdoors, and the community that grows when people come together around a shared passion.

To us, he’s not just an accomplished international athlete. He’s a coach, a mentor, a friend, and a huge part of our family here at the shop. The knowledge and inspiration he brings to Burlington are a gift to our entire paddling community.

Tamas, congratulations on an outstanding performance in Italy. We hope you take a moment to appreciate just how special this achievement is. You’ve given Canada plenty to celebrate, and you’ve given all of us here at WND&WVS another reason to be proud to call you one of our own.

I’m really excited to share this. ❤️

On October 2nd at 6 PM, two of my short films in collaboration with @wndnwvs, will be screened at @hulalakeside in Burlington!

The Water We Belong To is a short film about the @burlingtonsurfclub community and five people whose lives have been shaped by their relationship with water. (22 minutes)

That same evening, I’ll also be premiering Wave Man, a new short film about Albert Lash, founder of @rd2happinesspr Surf School in Rincón, Puerto Rico, and his lifelong connection to the ocean. (16 minutes)

Although the stories take place in very different places, both films are really about the same thing: what water gives us, how it carries us, and why we keep coming back to it.

After the films, Albert and I will be doing a Q&A, so come ask us some questions!

There will be popcorn, candy for sale to benefit @rd2happinesspr, and a raffle as well. This event is free but to RSVP click the link in bio!

There giving me a mic, this time 🎤 🤣🤓

Prone paddleboarder Matthew Limtiaco and Kayaker Greg Maino paddled 20 miles across the widest point of Lake Champlain from Burlington Surf Club in Burlington, VT, to Port Douglas, New York, and back on August 13th, marking the first annual “Champlain Crossing”. Prone paddleboards are relatively rare in the Northeast Kingdom, but Matt sees Lake Champlain as a perfect training ground for the growing sport. “It has everything from beautiful scenery on glassy days to challenging bumps on screaming downwinders. It’s just you and the board- no paddle, no extra gear- you’re really close to the water line and feel connected with nature.” The crossing took just over five hours, and the only prize Matt and Greg earned was a rock plucked from the shore of Port Douglas. “I couldn’t have done it without my buddy Greg Maino.” Matt expressed, “He’s an endurance freak, and super enthusiastic. That’s exactly what you need to paddle 20 miles!”
