As the new school year begins, our mission remains unchanged: empowering girls to thrive - whether in the classroom, in their communities, or beyond. Thanks to your support, we're making this happen in so many ways. From providing English classes in India to funding teachers in Kenya, supplying school essentials in Guatemala, and creating after-school spaces in the UK. By building safe and supportive environments, we're helping women and girls feel confident and capable. We’re helping them take control of their own futuresđŸŒđŸ€ #backtoschool #womenempowerment #girlseducation #educationforall #education by @wonderfoundation

Rock, Paper, Scissors Education for women and girls is the starting point for so much more. Long-term solutions, opportunities created by her, generational change and women in leadership positions.🧡 Because when you invest in one woman’s education, the impact rarely stops with her. #wonderfoundation #whatshestarts #rockpaperscissors #education #womensupportingwomen by @wonderfoundation
Sometimes all it takes is one person believing in you to help you see what’s possible. For Alphonsine, that person was her father.  He taught her that being a girl should never determine what she could or couldn’t achieve. 🧡 Fathers and men play an important role in supporting women and girls. By challenging the expectations placed on girls and encouraging them to go after what they want, they can help girls grow up knowing their ambitions are worth chasing.  In our latest In Conversation with WONDER, Alphonsine Kabagabo, former Director of Women for Refugee Women and a Rwandan refugee herself, reflects on how her father’s belief helped shape the woman and leader she became.  🔗Link in bio to watch the full episode!  #wonderfoundation #girldad #heforshe #whatshestarts #menforwomen by @wonderfoundation
In San CristĂłbal, Venezuela, a safe space to learn can mean so much more than a classroom. 🧡  Through our partner Pirineos, girls are building confidence, finding their voices and learning from the women around them.  Because what a girl learns today can shape the woman she becomes tomorrow, and what she goes on to share with others.  Take a look inside Pirineos in San CristĂłbal, Venezuela. đŸ‡»đŸ‡Ș  #wonderfoundation #girlseducation #venezuelađŸ‡»đŸ‡Ș #empowerwomen #whatshestarts by @wonderfoundation
When you fund one woman, you’re actually funding a whole village. A mother in India who builds her own business can keep her three kids in school. A midwife trained in DR Congo can go on to deliver hundreds of babies safely. Trustee Ekene and CEO Carmen discuss the multiplier effect that happens when you invest in women and girls, not just for them, but for those they pass it on to. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 The training is where it starts, but real change begins with her!🧡 Link in bio to hear more! #wonderfoundation #whatshestarts #girlseducation #empowerwomen #socialimpact by @wonderfoundation

A place on a course. A uniform. A graduation photo.  That’s what most people picture when they donate to women’s education. But that’s where things start, not where they end.đŸŒ± Women who trained with our partners in the DRC, the Philippines and Kenya are now caring for patients, teaching in their communities and passing their skills on to the next generation.  And the impact goes well beyond the women themselves. For every woman or girl WONDER reaches, an average of seven more people are reached through what she learns, builds and shares.  It’s a reminder that the opportunity to learn is just one part of what investing in women’s education makes possible.🧡 #WhatSheStarts #WONDERFoundation #WomensEducation #rippleeffect #womensupportwomen by @wonderfoundation
“So for me, that one single decision was able to change the trajectory of my family’s life.”  WONDER Trustee Ekene Okonkwo on the risk her grandmother took to keep her son in school. What started as an investment in his education carried through to Ekene’s life, her career, and her family’s.  One decision passed down. đŸŽ„ Full conversation live now, link in bio!  #wonderfoundation #rippleeffect #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen womenandgirls by @wonderfoundation
Who’s in your corner? 🧡 We asked some of the women closest to WONDER what it really means to have each other’s backs. World Mental Health Day this weekend was a reminder that how we cope can come down to who we have. The friend who checks in. The colleague who tells you the truth. The woman who backs you when it counts.  That spirit is at the heart of our Ambassador Circle, launching this month. It’s a community of people who believe in what we do and love bringing others along with them.  The Circle is by invitation only. If you’d love to be considered, send us a DM with a little about yourself and why WONDER’s mission matters to you. We can’t wait to hear from you. 💌  #worldmentalhealthday #womensupportingwomen #wonderfoundation #mentalhealth by @wonderfoundation
