We are gearing up this week for an outing!

Members of @theyardprintstudio are taking their work to Stroud as a group stall taking part in the 20th anniversary celebrations of @gpc_print (The Gloucestershire Printmaking cooperative).

Many of the GPC members came along to our inaugural print fair last autumn @inkedprintfestival and we are very much looking forward to visiting them this time, spending the weekend chatting about printmaking with old and new buddies and seeing all the wonderful work people have been making at the @museuminthepark PRINT FAIR.

Come see us and our work:

What a great little festival! So much going on I didn't do any posts. So many brilliant printmakers, so much interesting work. Lots of conversations with people rediscovering their love of print.

Really lovely to share a stall with the multi talented Lizzie Godden and her magical printed textiles. 💟

Thanks to all those that bought my work- prehistoric horses, sleepy whales, dinosaurs and a few flighty moths are all in their new homes. 😊😊

Huge thanks to Nic Goff and the festival team for organising an excellent event. 👏👏👏

If you missed the Cinderford event, the festival carries on at The George, Newham on Severn till the 22nd Nov. Print workshops on the 15th and 22nd and Artists Talks on 13th. See you there.

Introducing Eileen O’Haire @woodsideprinting and Lizzie Godden @lizziegodden who will be sharing a stall at the INKED Print Fair

Eileen:
I fell in love with print a few years ago and I’m still under it’s spell.
I use drypoint cut-card method where the image is cut into a film coated card and then sections are peeled back. The under-surface accepts the ink while the shiny surface repels it. I’m still exploring all the possibilities of this deceptively simple technique.

Lizzie:
I’m a textile artist using natural materials in my work. I make dyes with plant matter to colour fabric and thread, stitch into and print on plant dyed fabric, ecoprint on paper and fabric, stitch into ecoprinted fabric, make books. I am currently making paper using scraps of waste paper and incorporating plant matter, making paper to print on and stitch into.

Visit the The Inked Print Fair 7-8 Nov 2025 from 11-5pm at the Miners Welfare Hall, Cinderford by @woodsideprinting

Pech merle horses from 25,000 years ago. What fantastic graphic designers they were. Scroll through to the close up to see where they used the horse- shaped rock face to add another dimension.

I've been away from my press for most of the summer but getting excited to produce new work for the Inked Festival and Exhibition in November.
There's going to be so much going on; demos, workshops, loads of artists stall and good food!

You're all invited to the opening night at The George Newnham on Friday 7th November 7pm

Adding to the Stones series with seaweed strands. I saw beautiful multicoloured seaweed on a recent trip to Achill Island in Ireland. The ruby maroon and copper gold colours stood out against the white sand.

I'm framing up a few of these for the Far Open Studios coming up at the beginning of July. Check out studio No21. I'll be sharing with multi- talented Jane Spray ceramacist and textile artist Lizzie Godden. See you there!

Little drypoint prints of pebbles
1. With some mulberry paper chine colle
2. On their own
Loving the possibilities, not sure where they might take me!

More playing around with Chine Colle.

You've got to admire Magpies haven't you. They are smart, beautiful and bold. But they are also nest robbing, chick murdering predators!

I keep a magpie watch in my garden, chasing them away like a banshee when they come round to the sparrow and blackbirds nests. I can't begrudge them food for their own chicks but they have to leave 'my families' alone.

There's no point ascribing human morality to wild aminals. There's no good or bad, well behaved or naughty. Everything is living, feeding and dying together in a complex interconnected world which we still are learning about and still don't have enough respect for.

Insects are of course the beginning of the food chain for everything.
Viva les invertebrates!

Having a break from entomology and precision and going mad with chine colle. I've hand painted the mulberry paper before printing and letting rip on pattern and colour.
I used my small home press and not so happy with the ink saturation but I think that's me not the press😅

Spring is a mad kind of season. Flowers, trees and birds bursting with energy and activity. I've really enjoyed letting go of perfection and playing with the possibilities.
