Waldorf philosophy, but for the inner child ✨

"Perhaps it is always restful to be around someone who does not expect anything from you beyond what is in your nature."

Socktober can also be Socktember if you really want to 😌

I really want to knit knee high socks next, if you have a good pattern, let me know 👇🏼

🎃 happy pumpkin halloween best season 🎃

hope everyone is safe and has fun today, tonight and over the weekend 🧡

Pumpkin Child 🎃 by @woolfolkstudio

🎃 all the pumpkins for Pumpkin Week 🎃

🎃 Pumpkin Child feeling right at home with all our pumpkins
to be clear, Pumpkin Children are NOT born from regular pumpkins. you can safely walk around this weekend looking for pumpkins to carve, roast, turn into soup and enjoy the best season of the year

if you happen to visit a pumpkin patch, keep a close ear for soft snoring and THAT'S how you'll know that pumpkin is not for eating, for a little Pumpkin Baby is safely sleeping inside 🤫

I knitted this sweater/jumper in a blink of an eye, if only knitting mine was that fast 😭

🎃 halloween doesn't have to be scary if you don't like scary. have fun enjoying the season, the food, your community, and that's all you need 🧡

#WipWednesday 🪡

a tiny army of Root Babies 😌

the Burrow might just be my favourite place in all of the Woodland
everything has a place, and everyone belongs there

the Burrow is the home where you can be tiny, quiet, or loud, or sleepy, or bursting with news, and there is room for you exactly as you are 🤎

here's Root Child, up to no good, on other people's houses
(research, they say, to assist me)

the last days have been computer work. type type type, edit, fonts, sizes, text boxes, templates. 😮‍💨 very little handwork.
BUT that means the Booklet is sooooo close to coming alive with stories of my favourite Autumn characters 🍂

I'm at that final stage where I must decide if I want to choose photography as the medium for the images of the Booklet, or if I want to go with watercolour...

🎃
... at one point, Root Baby had an existential crisis, just thinking on the now very real possibility that eating pumpkin might disrupt entire lineages.
"have I eaten your grandmother?" 😲

but that's not how Pumpkin Folk come to be. they do not grow from ordinary pumpkins (thank goodness)

most pumpkins are simply pumpkins, good for soup, pies, lanterns, and even seed cakes
Pumpkin Children come from very rare moonvine blossoms that appear once every few autumns in hidden wild patches beyond the Woodland
and when the moonvine curls around a growing pumpkin under the season's first frost, that's how you'll know

... that and, you can always hear them snoring inside, as long as you keep quiet and pay close attention 🤫

this Pumpkin Child is just waking up, still curled up in pumpkin love 🧡🧡🧡

🍂 "just a splash of maple and one big spoon of cinnamon" said Root Child

as moth-light time rolls over the Woodland, all the Root Children settle into their favourite chair, holding their own acorn cup full of warm cinnamon oats

the Woodland Folk Field Guide says that if you listen closely enough, you can hear the soft clink of acorn cups as the Children get settled before bed ✨

pumpkin jumper/sweater
(slowly...) by @woolfolkstudio

currently cutting blue felt for a very specific character who refuses to live in a world that rushes (or lacks blue, for that matter, hence using blue scissors to keep them at their most happy in a world that has gone pumpkin mad)

this week, I'm working on their story and templates and making a pattern so you can bring the Blue Gnome to your own autumn nature table

we could all practice waiting together 😌
does your inner child need a reason to slow down this week?

and were you the one who sprinted through kitchen, bathroom and back to the living room, or did you stay put through all adverts/commercials?
personally, I remember jumping over the sofa like it was yesterday 😂😂😂
